Halloween 2009

My Dad, Barry and Sam came up for Halloween. We had such a nice day. And Kaylee had fun going trick-or-treating with Sam, Barry, Papa, and Yaya. Jon was sweet and stayed home with me.

We got the pumpkins last weekend to carve, but do to Jon getting sick the carving didn’t happen until Halloween afternoon. It was lots of fun, and I was even allowed to finish Barry’s while he was out trick-or-treating with everyone.

I love how Sam’s hair turned out. I wasn’t able to get the front a big as I wanted because she has bangs, but really loved the finished project. It’s amazing what you can do with bobby pins and hair spray! It was so much fun being able to do Halloween hair and makeup for Kaylee and Sam. It really made not being able to got out with them easier as I still felt involved.

Kaylee was being such a ham. I tried so hard to get a good picture of the font of her, but since I’m stationary and she’s a mover… well you get the gist of her cuteness. I love how her $3 costume turned out. I spent a day making her tutu and think it’s great for a first attempt.

Barry got to wear Jon’s pirate costume as Jon stayed home with me. Barry was so great to pose for me. Jon did the EEK with the spider and Barry did the Moon with the Bat. The pumpkins looked so much better than I thought they would. Jon stuck tons of tea lights in both of them to really make the carvings awesome. Next year we plan to have carving knives and do some super fancy pumpkins. It was hard to do the little details with kitchen knives. The boys did a really amazing job with their limited tools.

After everyone got back from trick-or-treating and candy sorting Kaylee decided to tackle Uncle Barry and steal part of his costume. She was so funny brandishing the sword around. I wish I could have gotten better pictures, but you do what you can being stuck in one spot. Meanwhile I get to stop taking the Terbutaline on Sunday! So we are officially in countdown mode at our house. The day after I stopped the Terbutaline with Kaylee we went to the hospital to have her. After my appointment yesterday I suddenly felt VERY short on time. It’s so funny how it feels like forever, and then suddenly you realize you could use more time to get things ready. Oh, well we are very excited that the end is near.

Josh and Yaya

We LOVE when Josh comes to visit. Kaylee was much warmer to him this visit. Here are a couple of cute pictures of these two hanging out Saturday morning. The mini Stella still works like magic to get Kaylee to cuddle! Kaylee even gave him a willing goodbye squish and kiss as well as blowing him kisses. Come visit again soon Josh.

Playing Starfall and saying, “cheese!” for the camera.

Kaylee’s Yaya (my Mom) got to our house a few hours before Josh on Friday night. She has been cleaning, cooking and playing with Kaylee nonstop since she got here. I’ve noticed that Jon, Kaylee, and I are more relaxed having her here. As amazing as my R.S. is there is just something comforting about having your Mom around when you are feeling icky and stuck on the couch. She is still trying to decide how long she is going to be able to stay. We may get to keep her for quite a while if she can arrange things with work! The bed rest is helping as well as having doubled the med dose. We are hoping to make it 3 more weeks, but would love to make it 4 more. We will just have to see. Jon and I are hoping to get a good long break before we have to go back to L&D for shots. He thinks we will end up there at least once more. We went in 3 times for shots with Kaylee’s pregnancy, and have so far been 3 times with Regan for the Turbutaline shots. We’ve been in 5 times now to keep him in and now all nurses know us. 🙂 So Regan is officially a more difficult pregnancy than Kaylee. He started off MUCH easier, but clearly wants to out do his big sis. Great news though, today we are 33 weeks and every day I can keep him in is an awesome day at our house because every day counts for a bigger healthier baby! Happy week everyone!

Finally did something with these pictures.

Got these pictures last weekend off my parents camera when they came to visit. This post is a few weeks past due, but oh well. These pictures are of our fun week with my family down in St. George. Kaylee and I went down for the weekend of the 4th, and my Mom convinced us to stay for the following week. We did lots of shopping and playing in the water. Kaylee started to get real excited anytime she saw me coming with the sunblock and swim suite. And she is just all girl with how much she loves shopping. We went to payless to look at shoes and she was soooo happy. It was a nice mini vacation (we missed Jon TONS!) Kaylee and I got way spoiled by everyone. We were able to visit Abuela Cristina, Aunt Sam, and Jamie, Linda, and the girls. Kaylee got some way cute hair flowers Aunt Linda made for her (pictured below,) and Jamie and Linda gave me their old double stroller! WOOHOO!!! Not to mention how much fun Kaylee had playing with the girls and eating I swer all of the otter pops at Linda’s house. Kaylee got a big girl car seat (still rear facing of course) and new shoes from her Yaya. And Mom got me new shoes as well. Seriously we got spoiled! Jon was able to join us the weekend of the 12th for some more family fun. He came baring unexpected gifts. A new cell phone for me (mine had died,) and a blue Slurpee! Still not sure which gift I was more excited about. That Saturday we went to Kaylee’s favorite splash pad, ate at an AWESOME pizza place that had a really fun arcade, and then went and had frozen yogurt at the Golden Spoon (got to see Sam working.)

This nice lady had extra Popsicles from her kids party so she went around and gave the extras away. It was a very nice surprise of a treat. Kaylee loved hers until she realized that her hands were dirty. Then she just wanted, “wub wub peas.” Lately she does not care for dirty hands. Unless she’s eating in her chair or at a table then it’s o.k., other wise she asks to have her hands washed. The picture of Kaylee laying down… she was just so tired that she tried to get comfy on the cement! We left that splash pad and she passed out in the car. Playing is hard work! 🙂

After the hostess sat us at our table my parents realized that they had lock both sets of my Mom’s car keys in her car. Well they had Kaylee’s car seat and diaper bag in the locked car! I kept thinking it will be o.k. as long as Kaylee doesn’t poop. So of course she had to poop just minutes after getting in the arcade. I usually have extra diapers and wipes in the trunk of my car, but had recently needed the emergency stash and had not yet replaced them. We did have one cloth diaper that I was able to get on her (thank heaven she was wearing bloomers), and I just ended up using wet paper towels. Not the easiest diaper change, but it got the job done. So we all had fun in the arcade while Dad took our car to his house to get the spare key. While he was gone Kaylee got to play a game. One that you put in your coin then hit the giant button. She completely out did all the boys so I had to put up a picture of my Dad’s tickets, and of Kaylee’s tickets. Jon had to wrap Kaylee’s tickets around her a few times for the picture. She got so many, it was great! She redeemed her tickets for the worlds most expensive Smarties. It was a way fun place that Jon and I think would make a perfect party spot for a 8 or 10 year old boy. We also had some real nice surprises when we got home. Aunt Cole had sent over some toys (Kaylee acted like it was Christmas. Kept saying, “Oooh!”) and Regan clothes (they are so cute). And Grandma Sapp’s Regan blankies and other goodies had arrived courtesy of Sharice and Josh. We are feeling VERY spoiled, and VERY grateful for all of the goodies and love shown to us. Thanks everyone!
