2 1/2 years old and a Kayleeism

A couple of weeks ago Kaylee turned 2 1/2. I was going to do a big post about her full of cute picture from that day. But life happens. And instead of having a day of dressing up, doing nails, and posing for the camera. Kaylee spent the day playing with our two little emergency (their baby sis decided she wanted to come 6 wks early!) house guests. Which was more loved by both of us anyhow.

I decided that I’d save her dress up shoot for her 3rd birthday, but I still wanted to do a post about Kaylee at 2 1/2 years old. Her likes/loves, and dislikes/hates. So here we go.

Likes/LOVES:

Color: Orange
Food: Pizza
Movie: Any princess/barbie movie or Toy Story
T.V. show: Dinosaur Train (PBS)
Book: How do Dinosaurs say Goodnight (gonna need a new copy soon, & the rest of the series)
Drink: Smoothies or Strawberry milk
Toy: Lamby & babies
Game: Starfall or playing mommy/doll house
Shoes
Nail polish
Lip gloss
Jewelery
Dinosaurs
Nutella
Her family
Walks
Shopping
Cleaning
Cooking

Dislikes/hates:

Being told NO
Naps (when she really does need one, and I force it)
Boogies
Bugs

Aside from her spectacular tantrums (nothing new there), she is at such a wonderfully fun stage in life. We think it’s scary how cute/adorable she is most of the time. She is so loving and thoughtful. Such a little nurturer. Also feisty as the day she was born. But really, doesn’t everyone love sweet and sour? Sweet with a little kick? LOVE IT! And HER!

Some random photos of her royal cuteness over the last couple of weeks. And the Kayleeism. Enjoy.

shoes + Kaylee = LOVE

I’ve mentioned before that Kaylee LOVES shoes. Well 6 1/2 months ago she got these cute sandals (ment for church use) from Auntie Jack’ee and Jason. And fell in LOVE. She insists on wearing them ALL THE TIME, and EVERYWHERE. And some nights it’s just not worth it to forcibly remove them from her feet. So she has many times slept in her favorite shoes. They are getting too small and snow is coming soon. So they will have to be hidden. They are MUCH loved, and MUCH worn out. Meanwhile she is FINALLY o.k. with others being without shoes on.

Regan James 11 months old

I can’t believe it’s already been 11 months! It is so sad/scary how fast time flies by. Regan is delightful as ever. Although he did pick up a new word from his big sis. “No” Says it like a pro too. Not a happy day when that flew out of his mouth. But what do ya do?

We have not taken him in to get weighed since his last appointment, but I did put him on my scale today for kicks. Our home scale says that he is 17 lbs even. I’ll find out if that’s true on Monday. If it is true that he has gained 2 lbs… well, we will be OH SO HAPPY!

He is still having acid B.V., but now it’s only about 3 times a day! (Woo Hoo!) We are very happy about the slow down. And we are hoping that that means he really is just growing out of whatever this is. Although he still doesn’t seem to be breaking down his solids like he should. (chunky B.V. = EEeewwwww!) So we will just see what Dr. K says about that at our next appointment.

He sure is ALL boy. All over the place putting EVERYTHING in his mouth. He has even started to tell Kaylee off when she takes a toy from him. He loves to chatter at us. And LOVES when I sing (Kaylee doesn’t, because I cannot), which is a nice change.

Regan’s newest words:

GoGo (Cat in the Hat song from PBS)
No
Hi
Ya
as well as these from here.

Yesterday when Jon came home Regan looked right at him and said,”Hi Dad.” We just about died. It was SO clear, and SO SO cute!

Next month my baby turns 1! That just makes me sad…………
