Only me

So picture in your head my sweet husband shaking his head in disbelief and saying in a competently exasperated voice (while trying, but not succeeding not to laugh)“Only you. Only you.” To be fair I hear this a LOT. I’ve mentioned before that I’m accident pron. Poor Jon. It’s bad people. And now he has to watch out for Kaylee too! The poor dear is just like her Mama.

You ready for a VERY funny story? Mind you it HURTS to laugh, but it’s getting better everyday. But go ahead and laugh if it causes you no pain to do so. 😉

(Me at the hospital waiting to get an x-ray.)

So on Monday the 3rd I did a cardio DVD with Kaylee at home. Then I followed that up with some light weight arm toning. This where I a little bit killed myself. Yup with a tiny light 3 lb weight. I was doing some simple rows. I’ve done these tons and never have had a problem before.

After just 1/2 my reps I decided to stop because I was REALLY hurting. So I took some Ibuprofen and hit the shower.

Over the next week (yes week) I was popping pain killers like a mad women and NOT using my arm. But I was getting worse not better.

After a few nights of not sleeping (the pain was that bad. i’d pass out for bits at a time, but then wake up in a could sweat in pain.) Jon decided to really look at my shoulder. (This was on Sunday the 9th.) So I painfully removed my shirt so he could get a better look. Oh, man it looked bad. We thought it was dislocated. So Jon put his foot down and dragged me to the Dr.’s the following day.

At the Dr.’s office they were all very sweet trying not to laugh when I told them what I did, and how long it had been. They thought we were just messing with them at first. Then when they realized that we were seriouse they tried very hard to contain their many man snorts and giggles. I mean really people a 3 lb weight! It’s FUNNY!

Then I got to be held steady by one Dr., while another pulled, twisted, and shoved. LOVELY! The sweet Dr. A wrote me an Rx for some good pain killers so I could start sleeping. Then they shipped me off to the hospital to get x-rayed and make sure that I didn’t tear any bone and what not.

The x-ray’s showed that I did not tear any bone, or really dislocate my shoulder. I did however completely jack up my tendons. So I get to be on pain meds, use ice packs as much as possible, and wear this very stylish sling. Until everything feels better.

So lesson learned. No more weight lifting for me. If you can even call 3 lbs. weight lifting. Can you? hmmm….

Feel free to laugh at the absurdity of it all. I mean who damages them self seriously with a 3lb weight? Oh, that’s right I do!!! Makes me laugh every time. But then I am physically reminded that it HURTS to laugh.

Kayleeism

(Kaylee can pass out anywhere! Here she is power napping.)

This is what happens to Kaylee after playing with her Carter. He wears her out! It’s one of the many reasons we love him.

Our sweet friends watched the children for us on Monday afternoon so Jon could take me to the Doctor’s.

Kaylee took a power nap after we brought her home. When she woke up she realized that one of her many babies was left in the car.

This is what happened as recorded in her journal for me by Jon:

Tonight Kaylee came into our room saying “I need my baby. It’s in a car. Go get it Daddy”. We left the baby out in the car and Janice said it’s dark and scary outside. And that Daddy would get the baby tomorrow.

Kaylee walked away moping. Later she came back and said “Come on Dad you a scaredi cat?” She repeated this several times taunting Daddy. This involved lots of gesturing and funny body language. We were laughing so hard!

Jon said I’m not a scaredi cat and went to get the baby out of the car. By the way it is 8 degrees outside.

When Jon went to get the baby out of the car he said “Where’s my boots?” Kaylee said “Boobs are right here” pointing to her chest.

So there you have it. Boots and Boobs sound the same to a tired Kaylee. And her Daddy is NOT a scaredi cat.

Mister Man

(Don’t mind his corduroys he has Church slacks, but I need to get him some suspenders so they stay on his skinny self!)

So I finally got a picture of Mister Man in one of his new ties. I am SO going to make him more. they were so easy and turned out (I think) great! Big thank you to my Dad for donating the ties (I didn’t want to spend money on ties and then possibly ruin them!) that I used. I LOVE that Regan’s first ties are his Papa’s old ones. And see his super swank tie clip? That would be his Daddy’s from his mission (He served in Hawaii). It says Aloha on it. Too fun!!! I found it while cleaning and knew it was just the thing to keep a little boys tie up off the ground. Regan is in the 1/2 crawling 1/2 walking phase of life and floors are not meant to be mopped by silk ties! Plus the clip just keeps the tie out of Regan’s way. Perfect!

I combined elements from these two tutorials here and here. I used velcro instead of elastic. Mostly because the elastic didn’t cooperate with me. But I really like the velcro tons. I’ll be on the look out for some fun funky ties to make more cuteness for my little man. They just don’t have fun patterns already made for little men so making my own is what I will be doing. It’s just so easy! Plus clearance ties are way cheaper than buying little ties anyway. Or you could always go the free rout and grab Daddy/Grandpa’s old ones.

Oh, and Dr. K called and let us know (a while ago) that the biopsy’s came back fine! WOO HOO! So it’s just the LNH. And as you can see Regan is gaining weight! The steroids are doing their job beautifully. We have a follow up with Dr. K on Thursday. So we will see just how much Regan has gained and talk more about treatment plans.
