Reganism: Just call him Evil Kenevil

We took the children to the park for family home evening. Regan decided to put on his dare devil pants, crazy pants, and stubborn pants. All.at.the.same.time!

IMG_8765Let’s start with the cute and work our way to the CaRaZy. I love when Kaylee picks out her own clothes. You can just see her little (BIG) personality show. She is most definitely zebra strips and pink plaid.

IMG_8772I got Regan an actual bike, but it’s two inches too big. So tonight he road the motorcycle push toy. We LOVE that thing!

IMG_8775Such lovely weather we are having right now. I will miss evenings like this all too soon. The dreaded heat is fast approaching.

IMG_8779So Jon and I are sitting on a bench chatting and watching the children play. I see Regan eying his ride on, and then the “mountain”. Just looking back and forth stroking his chin. He pretends to have a beard when doing serious thinking.

And I KNEW what he way contemplating. And so I am shaking my head and telling him no. And Jon’s all why are you saying no?

So Jon asks Mister Man what he is thinking. And Regan asks for help to get his ride on up the mountain so he can ride it down the slide. Jon says no. I said I told you so.

IMG_8780But he had his stubborn pants on, and wasn’t going to take no for answer. So I pulled out the camera, and Jon walked over to stand by to catching a falling child. We really didn’t think he’d get very far.

IMG_8782

IMG_8783But when that kid gets a thought in his head he has to see it through. It may or may not have something to do with his redhead/latin blood……. 😉 Stubborn pants.

IMG_8785

IMG_8786At this point he is just thrilled with himself, Kaylee and I are mumbling about crazy pants, and Jon is calling him a dare devil.

IMG_8790

IMG_8791Jon wisely let him fall just enough to get scared off from trying this stunt again. Or so we thought…..

IMG_8792

IMG_8794

IMG_8796Poor little Bug was so upset that his visions of awesomeness failed.

IMG_8797

IMG_8799It was so sad. He was all, “It didn’t work. I SO sad!”

IMG_8802

IMG_8818And then he decided that he just needed to try a smaller slide. REALLY! This kid is going to give me all my grey hairs! Stubborn, dare devil, crazy pants!

IMG_8820Kaylee decided at this point she needed a fountain break. So I told Regan he HAD to wait for Dad to come back before trying to go down.

IMG_8821

IMG_8823So he sat like this and waited for Jon.  And delighted me with all manner of revving noises.

Jon: Do you think this is going to end well?

Regan: Um. Probably not.

IMG_8824So he may have been wearing his crazy, stubborn, dare devil pants, but he wasn’t wearing idiot pants. He turned his bike around, and shoved it down the steps.

IMG_8826He even made sure to yell at everyone to watch out.

IMG_8827

IMG_8829He decided it was best to just use his tukkis for slides, and had fun playing the safe way after his experiments where done.

This boy of ours is delightful in every way! We love our little Evil Kenevil.

Mother’s Day 2013

I had a lovely Mother’s Day. Kaylee has been “So exsikic!” for weeks about it. She was cracking us with her poor attempt at keeping things secret and misdirection. i.e.: When Jon and Kaylee were going to the grocery store for dinner/dessert supplies she told me they were going to the man store (Home Depot) to buy tools. Sneeky, sneeky.

IMG_8754The children got up in sacrament meeting with the rest of the primary and sang all the Mom’s some songs. Good grief it was adorable!

IMG_8757Jon and the kids made me sit and soak my feet after church and then shipped me off for a nap while they made dessert. LOVELY.

IMG_8758Kaylee even decorated for me. Because she’s cute and awesome like that.

My new family photo enlargements are on their way and will be hung in my living room soon! Eeeeee! So excited.

I have been so blessed to have some amazing women in my life who, have mother-like qualities that can only be found in women. With or without children!

Thank you all you lovely women out there who mother me. I love you all!

And so I say Happy Mother’s Day to us all!

Cousin time.

Last night I got a phone call from Rebekah asking if she could borrow my library card. She evidently has a book report due on Friday, and her library didn’t have the books she needed.

So we got to see cousins briefly when the gang came over to grab the card. I gave them money to pay a fine, and am happy that got taken care of. 🙂

Then Shannon said they were headed to the park after the library, and we should go too.

IMG_8729So Jon and I loaded the kids up and went. Regan insisted on sleeping in his swimsuit the night before, and wore it all day. I think he is ready for pool time.

IMG_8722

IMG_8733I am that Mom who takes the kids the park in jammies. It was a jammie clean the house kind of day, and I wasn’t about to change and add to my laundry. Good thing Shannon, Jon and the kids don’t care how I look.

IMG_8736The bicycle brigade. It was Kaylee’s first time doing long stretches of sidewalk riding. She LOVED it, and can’t wait to go practice more.

IMG_8731This park has a circular sidewalk around the playground. the kids just did loop after loop.

IMG_8737Regan needs some wheels. He ran behind the kids the whole time making engine sounds. Needless to say the kids had fun with their cousins, and got worn out for bedtime.
