Reganism: on adoption

IMG_2524

Regan asked for seconds of pizza then folded his arms.

Regan prayed we could adopt a baby for the first time by himself. "Bless we could adopt a baby soon I can be a big brudder."

He also prayed that Daddy would have a good day at work, Kaylee would have a good day at school, and he would have fun at Aunt Shannon's house.

He did not bless the food though. He now prays that we can adopt a baby soon in all his prayers. I asked him why he wants to adopt a baby, and he said, "Babies are so cute. I can be a big budder, have so much fun."

So there you go. Regan is ready to be a big brother.

Reganism: about flying

Me: Regan go pee in the potty, and get ready for bed.

R: Just a minute. I'm doing my job. See my job is AWESOME. I flying!

Me: Uh, huh. Go pee.

R: Just a minute. I flying. See its my job!

Kid wouldn't get off the flight simulator. It took an epic crash before he decided to listen. Good thing the kid is cute, and was being adorable about flying being the best job ever. He's been a bit spoiled having a pilot for an uncle. A brave/crazy one who lets three year old little boys take control of the plane and fly.

Kaylee ties her own shoes!

"I did it! It was hard, but I kept pracasing. I never gave up. I got frustrated, but I remembered to take a deep breath, and keep trying. And Look Mom. I did it!"

Kaylee was very excited to when she got lace up shoes. She was very eager to learn to tie her own shoes. We've been practicing almost every day before school. Some days she would practice on both shoes, but most she would do one shoe with LOTS of help, and then be done.

I decided to be SUPER laid back with it, and not push it at all. I didn't want her toss in the towel. And today she insisted on doing it all by herself, and did! She was SO excited that she did the second shoe as well!

I am so proud of her! Tying laces is hard, and she gets frustrated easily when things are difficult. It really did take lots of deep breaths, but she never gave up. We talked about how when we really want something hard work and lots of patience go a long way. I think she is slowly starting to get that concept.

She was on cloud nine ALL DAY LONG. Her good behavior punch card got filled up so she got to choose a prize from the treasure box, plus it's Friday which means pizza and no homework. She was SO giddy about her "awesomest day ever!" when I went to pick her up from school. On our way home we hit up the library for some movies. She is currently sleeping in a fort in the living room.

I miss being five. The simple life.
