Weight check…….

Weight: 17 lbs 13 oz

So Kaylee is still .34% for weight. But she didn’t fall farther down the growth chart, and 8 oz in one month is much better than only 6 oz for three months. So we go back in one month for another weight check and meeting with her Doc. He was pleased that she seems to have leveled off, but would still like to see a bit more weight on her next month. So she’s getting weighed at 17 moths old, then again at her 18 month WCC. If she still isn’t doing better at putting on the weight then her Doc wants to do some tests to make sure that there isn’t anything going on other than a super fast metabolism. So just for fun I thought I’d jot down a list of Kaylee’s cuteness.

funny face saying, “cheese!”

  • Things she likes to say:
  • “aw dun” (all done)
  • “bup peas”, or “peas bup” (up please)
  • “uh oh”
  • “yesh” (yes)
  • “ish” (fish)
  • “hi”
  • “awples” (apples)
  • “wub, wub” (rub, rub. for washing hands or putting on lotion)
  • “hi guys” to groups of people
  • “dis” (this, while pionting)
  • “do ya, do ya” (for her Lamby. It’s part of the Lamby song I made up. And she can’t say Lamby yet…)
  • “pweety, pweety” (pretty, pretty. For her jewelry or hair clips)
  • “bebe” (baby) for herself in mirrors, her baby doll, pictures of babies, or babies we see at church and aound.
  • “cheese” (for the camera, or the food)
  • “push” (we tell her to push her arms and legs though her cloths, so now she says push push with us while we are dressing her or putting her shoes on)
  • she signs more followed by “peas” when she wants more food
  • Mama, Mom, Dad, Daddy, Papa, Yaya, Buba (Barry)

  • Things she likes to do:
  • go for stroller rides (Barry is her favorite for this)
  • be outside (not on grass)
  • play on the laptop
  • sing her songs
  • read books to me (she reads one to me while I read one to her)
  • play with her fridge phonics magnets and sing ABC’s
  • give her baby doll stroller rides, hugs and kisses
  • rock in “her” rocking chair (my nursing rocker)
  • eat, eat, eat….
  • put on lipgloss (Aunt Sam taught her well)
  • put on shoes (on herself or others. She likes people to have shoes on)
  • put on her sunglasses and my big sun hat
  • bring me my shoes and grab the mail keys when she wants to go get the mail, she holds my hand and the mail keys until we get to the mail box then she stops walking hands me the keys and says, “Mom” letting me know it’s my turn. On our way back to the house she gets to hold my hand and a letter.
  • she points at things she doesn’t have words for yet until we figure out what she wants.
  • throw amazing temper tantrums when she doesn’t feel well
  • lay on her pillow in the living room to relax, or sit in her chair (the two things she doesn’t share ever)
  • waves goodbye and blows kisses to everyone
  • give squishes (hugs)
  • say prayers (she says her own and will finish with “aw dun.” She is very good at being reverent during scripture and prayers every night. And I love how well she folds her arms!)
  • play with Yaya, and Papa
  • Play with me and Jon
  • talk on the phone

This list could go on and on I’ve left so much out, and I’m sure I’ve left out some of her words and little sentences, but I really wanted to get it all down before too much longer. We are very impressed with our little 16 month old.

15 months old today and skiny as ever.

O.k. so my kid just will not gain weight!
These are her stats from her 12 month check:

weight: 16 lbs. 15 oz. 2%, height: 27 3/4 in. 13 %.

These are from her 15 month check that we just came from:

weight: 17 lbs. 5 oz. .34%, height: 28 1/4 in. 3%.

She eats more than I do! Seriously ask anyone who has spent more than one meal at our house. People are always amazed at just how much she eats. She really should be a little porker. We have had our neighbor David (15) staying with us this last week and even he is shocked that she lost weight with how much she eats. I told him I was hoping she would be closer to 18 lbs… Oh, did I forget to say she was 17 lbs 9 oz two weekends ago. Jon and the nurse weighed her at my last O.B. appointment while I was in the bathroom. We eat healthy, but she gets plenty of good fats. Milk, Cheese, Yogurt, all sorts of meat,…. Plus she loves ice cream, popcorn and chips and eats those whenever they happen to be around. I don’t know… I just can’t seem to keep up with her extra super fast metabolism. She is just so her Daddy’s daughter! So I have to take her back in a month for a weight check. Other than her doctor being concerned (for the very first time) about her weight she is doing great. She has so many words (newest is UP said like bup), climbs like a monkey, and is just so much fun and too cute for words. She likes to give squishes (hugs), and blow kisses. She doing so many new things everyday it’s hard to even remember to write it all down. I love how like a sponge she is with everything!
