Grandpa’s Funeral

Jon's Grandfather's funeral was lovely. It was a LONG drive to get there, but we are so glad we went. It was so very nice to be able to be with family and remember such a great man. It was a happy sad family reunion.

Jon's Grandpa was a Marine. It was awesome to see uniformed Marine's there and see them show their respect for a fellow Marine.

Kaylee is always asking to take pictures. She's getting pretty good.

We of course had to get a photo of Regan with his great Uncle Mark wearing their suspenders.

I was able to meet lots of family for the first time IN person. Facebook and blogs are nice, but only get you so far. Karen I hope we meet again in person soon rather than later. Karen family is also hoping to adopt. Go check them out.

The following day we headed back south to spend some time with the southern Utah family. We played lots of Canasta. I cannot think of Grandpa without thinking of canasta. It was a favorite of his, and so we play. Plus it's a wicked fun game.

248Aunt Shelly taught Kaylee how to make duck lips from Pringles. I love her cross eyed face as she tries to look at it.

All in all it was just a lovely trip.

So Jon's paternal Grandfather passed away. He lived a good long life. We were able to travel to northern Utah for the funeral. We also used that time to visit with our best friends. It has sadly been a year and a half since the children and I last saw them. Longer for Jon. We stayed with them while up north and where able to spend a bit of time with them between family time. It was a fast but lovely trip.

Tray volcanos

This activity takes about two minutes to set up and entertains the children for a good hour. It’s awesome that baking soda, food coloring, vinegar can be so fun!

After they are out of reactive fun they get all mad scientisty with their pretend play. It’s all Jekyll and Hyde (SO should have recorded THAT bit!), and witches and wizards at the the kitchen table.

Kaylee couldn’t figure out how to use the medicine dropper, so I had to stop filming and teach her how to do it.
