Man I miss these views. SO pretty.
It was good to be back for a bit. Kaylee was beyond excited to see "real" mountains again.
We woke up opened presents, loaded the van and hit the road. We caravaned with the Day family. Wlkie talkies' are so fun!
Jon made me an awesome bath book holder, and got me goodies to go with it! Kaylee randomly asked to write Santa a wish list letter. Post shopping. I panicked. Her list: A wonder Woman doll, a Wonder Woman book, a purple dress.
When she was done I was SO happy. She was getting everything on her list. EXCEPT the purple dress. I told her that since she recently got a new purple dress Santa would surprise her with something. She was fine with that.Months ago Nicole gave me a bag of dresses for Kaylee to grow into. I put them in the back of the closet to save. Christmas miracle and answered prayers, and one thrilled and grateful little girl! She hugged her "new" dress for minutes, many minutes before deciding to open more gifts. These two got each other new action figures. I love this picture of them thanking each other. My new bath book board and ambience. Jon rocks! I made the kids new hooded towels. These things are massive. I used bath sheets, and love how they turned out.
The kids got Jon new pajama pants. And cookie sheets. French toast feast guarded by his many Batman figures. You can never have too many Batman figures.
Seven hours later we were finally in Utah opening more presents.
My parents love their grandchild growth ruler.
I miss my sister, and was SO happy to get to spend so much time with her.
Regan ended his long day in Lego heaven with his uncle Barry.
Jon's Grandfather's funeral was lovely. It was a LONG drive to get there, but we are so glad we went. It was so very nice to be able to be with family and remember such a great man. It was a happy sad family reunion.
The children and I got to meet Grandma Grey for the first time.
Jon's Grandpa was a Marine. It was awesome to see uniformed Marine's there and see them show their respect for a fellow Marine.
Kaylee is always asking to take pictures. She's getting pretty good.
Jerris next to his Uncle Jerris' headstone.
We of course had to get a photo of Regan with his great Uncle Mark wearing their suspenders.
I was able to meet lots of family for the first time IN person. Facebook and blogs are nice, but only get you so far. Karen I hope we meet again in person soon rather than later. Karen family is also hoping to adopt. Go check them out.
Fun and games with the family after the funeral.
The following day we headed back south to spend some time with the southern Utah family. We played lots of Canasta. I cannot think of Grandpa without thinking of canasta. It was a favorite of his, and so we play. Plus it's a wicked fun game.
Aunt Shelly taught Kaylee how to make duck lips from Pringles. I love her cross eyed face as she tries to look at it.
All in all it was just a lovely trip.
