A couple of firsts and other AWESOME news!

(Every post deserves a picture… It’s hard to tell but my hand is all puffy, and bruised from the first IV attempt. My right hand did much better. The bruise keeps getting darker.)

So I’m starting to think going to L&D is just going to be our standard FHE activity for a while as I have weekly appts on Mondays. 🙂 Also I may have laughed too hard watching Jon Karaoke on Sunday night with friends… So wish I had the video camera! Any how the Doc. Sent us (me, Jon came too) to go get steroid shots as things are progressing despite our best efforts. He has also implemented actual bed rest, and put me on the oral form of the shots you get at the hospital. The Terutaline worked great to keep Kaylee in and we are hoping between the new drugs and bed rest to make it several more weeks. So besides being a bit emotional at having to be on bed rest I’m doing o.k. And am feeling so lucky and blessed to have such an awesome husband and R.S. to help me out with Kaylee and house stuff. Jon did all our laundry this weekend and I changed not one diaper! He really is just the best! O.K. now for fun stuff…

This weekend we had a couple of fun firsts for our family… Because of another fun filled trip to Labor and Delivery (had to go get shots to stop the way too frequent and way painful contractions) Kaylee got to have her first sleepover on Friday night! She did not care that she was getting dropped of at Jake and Cole’s. And was too busy playing the next morning to get too excited to see Jon. She had FUN! Jon and I did not have fun Friday night, but all is well and the kid is staying in for now. 🙂 Sunday Kaylee got to go to Nursery for the first time. Jon took her while I was teaching and said she did great. We knew she would have a blast, I was sad to miss dropping her off, but I did get to peek in on her a couple of times. She was totally blissed out. And the ladies in Nursery said she was great. Lets hope that this continues.

(Jon) I took her in there and she saw all of the other kids and got very excited. I was very much expecting there to be tears and screaming but there was not. So I thought take Lamby away and then there would be tears so I said can I have Lamby? She was like sure here and gave me Lamby and got down and started playing with the toys. I was very disappointed because I was certain she’d be devastated to leave us but she was not. On a more pleasant note she looked like such a little person with all the little humans in their tiny chairs and table and toys.

As for awesome news… My new sling is coming! Ora is AWESOME! She is just the most beautiful talented person! I am so excited to carry Regan around in the beautiful cozy soft sling that she made! It will be in the mail and to me soon! And wouldn’t you know just days before I get my new sling my old one turns up at the lost and found at church!!! Jon had just left Kaylee at Nursery and was walking past the library and they had a table set up with a sign said, “Please take me home.” Well there it was just sitting on the table with all the other lost things. So now I will have two slings which is perfect! Kaylee had a few blowouts while in the sling and it would have been so nice to have a spare and not have to wait to get the one washed. So we had a really really great Sunday! Kaylee loves Nursery (no surprise there), and Jon found my old sling! We think a Mom picked it up and forgot it was in her bag to drop at lost and found (so understandable as Mom’s are busy), and kept forgetting to bring it back to church to the lost and found. We looked several times there for it and finally gave up. Jon says look what happens when you pay your tithing. I say too true! So we had a weekend full of blessings. Thanks everyone for your prayers Friday night. And Jake and Cole for taking care of little miss so often for us. 4/5 more weeks and then my body is aloud to kick Regan out. 🙂 As for now LOTS of R&R and water (and of course the pills). Life is great, and the gospel is true! Happy week everyone!

My little miss is awesome!

I have to sit for a bit while the side affects of my meds wear off. So I thought I’d jot down my interesting morning with little miss. She didn’t go to sleep until 10:30 due to a late and long nap. So of course I was looking forward to sleeping in. I took one ear plug out after Jon kissed me goodbye this morning so I would be able to hear Kaylee when she woke. Well I never herd her! I finally rolled over and pulled out the other plug at 10:30 this morning. I was thinking man she’s sleeping long… Then I hear this strange noise coming from Jon’s side of the bed. I crawled over to see if it was Kaylee. She was trying to climb up into bed with me! She got all excited when she saw me and said, “up peas Mom.” (up please mom) So I pulled her up into bed with me. She smelt like popcorn and pee. I asked her if she had been eating popcorn and she said, “yesh.” Then I asked if she needed a new diaper and again she said, “yesh.” So we got out of bed and went to changer her very full pee diaper. She was all happy and excited. She is NOT a morning person so I found this delightfully odd. Well she had not only finished off the very little bit of popcorn left from movie night, but she had also dished herself out some Cheez-it’s that had been left on the coffee table. I have no idea how long she’s been awake. Her toys and books were all over, and she had fed herself breakfast! Not a great breakfast, but it was what she had access to courtesy of her Daddy leaving stuff out and in her reach. 🙂 She only came and got me when she needed a new diaper. So I had a bit of cleaning to do this morning as there was popcorn and crackers everywhere. My sweet baby is (and has always been) so independent she loves doing things by herself. So she had a healthier second breakfast with me at quarter to 11 of egg free wheat pancakes, banana, and milk. Our days schedule is completely off, but Kaylee has been delightful and I’m sure enjoying her adorable cuteness. Also she started to put herself to bed this week. We do our scripture and payer. She gives us hugs and kisses, gathers her Lamby and blankie, and then just walks to her room and climbs in bed. I was shocked and excited the first time, and Jon said lets see if she keeps doing it. Well it’s been five nights in a row!!! We are officially excited! She’s starting to do the same for naps! This will be so helpful when Regan arrives. Anyway we’ve had a great morning (I love sleeping in), and so far it looks like a great day with little miss. Hope everyone else is having an awesome day.

Finally did something with these pictures.

Got these pictures last weekend off my parents camera when they came to visit. This post is a few weeks past due, but oh well. These pictures are of our fun week with my family down in St. George. Kaylee and I went down for the weekend of the 4th, and my Mom convinced us to stay for the following week. We did lots of shopping and playing in the water. Kaylee started to get real excited anytime she saw me coming with the sunblock and swim suite. And she is just all girl with how much she loves shopping. We went to payless to look at shoes and she was soooo happy. It was a nice mini vacation (we missed Jon TONS!) Kaylee and I got way spoiled by everyone. We were able to visit Abuela Cristina, Aunt Sam, and Jamie, Linda, and the girls. Kaylee got some way cute hair flowers Aunt Linda made for her (pictured below,) and Jamie and Linda gave me their old double stroller! WOOHOO!!! Not to mention how much fun Kaylee had playing with the girls and eating I swer all of the otter pops at Linda’s house. Kaylee got a big girl car seat (still rear facing of course) and new shoes from her Yaya. And Mom got me new shoes as well. Seriously we got spoiled! Jon was able to join us the weekend of the 12th for some more family fun. He came baring unexpected gifts. A new cell phone for me (mine had died,) and a blue Slurpee! Still not sure which gift I was more excited about. That Saturday we went to Kaylee’s favorite splash pad, ate at an AWESOME pizza place that had a really fun arcade, and then went and had frozen yogurt at the Golden Spoon (got to see Sam working.)

This nice lady had extra Popsicles from her kids party so she went around and gave the extras away. It was a very nice surprise of a treat. Kaylee loved hers until she realized that her hands were dirty. Then she just wanted, “wub wub peas.” Lately she does not care for dirty hands. Unless she’s eating in her chair or at a table then it’s o.k., other wise she asks to have her hands washed. The picture of Kaylee laying down… she was just so tired that she tried to get comfy on the cement! We left that splash pad and she passed out in the car. Playing is hard work! 🙂

After the hostess sat us at our table my parents realized that they had lock both sets of my Mom’s car keys in her car. Well they had Kaylee’s car seat and diaper bag in the locked car! I kept thinking it will be o.k. as long as Kaylee doesn’t poop. So of course she had to poop just minutes after getting in the arcade. I usually have extra diapers and wipes in the trunk of my car, but had recently needed the emergency stash and had not yet replaced them. We did have one cloth diaper that I was able to get on her (thank heaven she was wearing bloomers), and I just ended up using wet paper towels. Not the easiest diaper change, but it got the job done. So we all had fun in the arcade while Dad took our car to his house to get the spare key. While he was gone Kaylee got to play a game. One that you put in your coin then hit the giant button. She completely out did all the boys so I had to put up a picture of my Dad’s tickets, and of Kaylee’s tickets. Jon had to wrap Kaylee’s tickets around her a few times for the picture. She got so many, it was great! She redeemed her tickets for the worlds most expensive Smarties. It was a way fun place that Jon and I think would make a perfect party spot for a 8 or 10 year old boy. We also had some real nice surprises when we got home. Aunt Cole had sent over some toys (Kaylee acted like it was Christmas. Kept saying, “Oooh!”) and Regan clothes (they are so cute). And Grandma Sapp’s Regan blankies and other goodies had arrived courtesy of Sharice and Josh. We are feeling VERY spoiled, and VERY grateful for all of the goodies and love shown to us. Thanks everyone!
