Heaton Reunion

So about a year ago Jon had the awesome idea that we should have a reunion after his parents got home. It took that long to plan all the details, and was SO AWESOME! Jon’s oldest brother Josh has an awesome friend who’s family has a cabin in Show Low. And what they call a cabin we call and I will quote Kaylee, “The really really big giant house castle.” Man was that house big. It comfortably fit us all. Which is saying tons. There were 15 adults and 16 children 8yrs and younger. Yup 31 people and not feeling squished when everyone was inside. BIG HOUSE!

We made a craptastic piñata for the children. They did some awesome decorating on it before bashing it to pieces.

My all time FAVORITE picture of our trip is “drunk” Regan. Cracks me up every time I see it.

We of course took lots of group and individual family photos. Not too shabby for 31 people on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Thank you mister tripod! This was day one attempting to do some new photos for us. The children just were not feeling it.

This was attempt number 2. It went a tad better.

Jon and I decided to get silly. He was mostly trying to help me keep my cool during the situation. The children were just not wanting Mama to have a nice new everyone looking and smiling at the camera photo. Oh, well………..

Then we went and saw Jack’ee. She chopped mine and Kaylee’s hair. She also made us the most delish red velvet cake, and refused to let me get a picture of her. Kaylee and I are LOVING our new summer hair.

We had SO much fun visiting with everyone, and introducing Regan to family. He (we) had SO much fun visiting Grandma and Grandad Sapp. And we enjoyed delish party leftovers on our way home. Thanks Deb and Lauren for the yummyness! And a HUGE thanks you to Aunt Deb for mailing us back my Dad’s camera (that he foolishly trusted us with…. never again though…) that we left. (Ya, we are SO awesome!)

July 4th 2011

The last time we spent the 4th with the Kreyling’s (Jamie & Linda) was right after we were married. It’s been FAR too long and we were so happy when we found out that Linda and the girls were going to be in town (Jamie was in Hawaii) this year.

Linda took us swimming. She took Kaylee down the slide at least 10 time. Kaylee went down at least that many times with Jon and then several more solo (Jon of course caught her at the end) Then Linda fed us dinner.

Jadzia put a flower tatoo on Kaylee (she LOVED it). And this is Regan’s new camera pose. He yells, “EEEssss!” (cheese) and strikes this pose. Getting a picture of him just smiling is getting tricky.
Oh, and Sam isn’t taller than me. My head is just tilted. Just wanted to share that tidbit. And yes I am VERY white. Thanks for noticing. 😉

If you look closely you can see a plate of Linda made Cinnamon rolls. I ate like 10 by myself (there were LOTS and they were AWESOME). I think I need to start running like Jamie and Linda minus the marathons though………..

Hope your 4th was as wonderful as ours was.

April 15th

So my Mom thought it would be awesome to spend an ENTIRE day hiking Bryce and Zion (it was free fee week!) while my sister Jack’ee and her boyfriend Jason came to visit. It was both TONS of fun, and completely exhausting. I was shocked at how well the children did. 5:30 am – 9:30 pm (long long day). Photos in no particular order.

There was SO much snow on our way to Bryce.

Jason and Jack’ee started a snowball fight with Kaylee. She totally schooled them with her mad snowball fighting skills. Look at Jack’ee’s face!

Kaylee contrary to her facial expressions LOVED being carried in the carrier.

Our last hike ended at the entrance to the Subway. There were all these cool looking rock towers. Jack’ee Jason and Kaylee made some before we left.
