a Surprise and a first.

Jon is sneeky. He decided to surprise me for my birthday weekend. I was SOOO surprised! Friday morning at 6:30ish AM I went to check (I had to pee and thought since I was up I may as well get stuff started.) on Regan and get his morning formula ready so I could just hand it to him in bed when he came to get me in and hour or so. Well I was SO scared when I saw a man shadow waving at me from Kaylee’s bed! It took me a moment to realize it was Jon and he was in Kaylee’s bed with Regan (Kaylee climbed in bed with me at about 5:30 AM). I took out my ear plugs and he said, “Surprise!”

It was great (once the shock/fear was gone). That night we had some friends over for dinner and games. Then Saturday morning headed down to St. George to watch conference with my family.

Usually we watch conference, celebrate my birthday, and get new family photos taken. Well since I had no idea that Jon was going to surprise me I told my Mom that I wanted to wait until Jack’ee’s visit to have a party. So poor Kaylee has to wait a few more days until she can blow out my candles.

Still it was AWESOME being a family again. (Even if it was for just a weekend.) Best birthday gift EVER!

Between sessions of conference we went and got some pictures at the temple. There are several I love and am having a hard time deciding which one to use for our Christmas postcard.

This morning (my actual b-day) I got to take Kaylee to her first ultrasound. Kaylee has had too many UTI’s and so we need to find out why she keeps getting them. She NEVER has bubble bathes, she no longer wipes herself (bums me out, but UTI’s bum us all out so we wipe her…), and she drinks straight cranberry juice (she LOVES it and calls it her “special juice”) daily. So she REALLY should NOT be having UTI’s at all.

I was SO proud of how awesome she did. She was SOOOO scared and told me so, lots. She also said she was going to cry (a little boy was bawling right before her name was called). I’ve been explaining what was going to happen for a few days to prep her. So we went prepared. She got to take her Lamby AND her Barry blanket.

The Tech we had was SO sweet. She showed Kaylee what she was going to do first on my hand then on Kaylee’s and let me lay on the table with Kaylee. Kaylee even requested that Nancy find her gum she had JUST swallowed. So Nancy did (not sure if the white blob really was gum or not, but super nice of Nancy to humor Kaylee).  And Kaylee thought it was SUPER cool being able to see her insides on the “t.v.”

Kaylee was just chatting and giggling the whole time. Telling me and Nancy stories and how excited she was about getting chocolate ice cream. She and Nancy had a long discussion about which was better, chocolate ice cream with or without nuts.

Thanks Nancy for being the BEST tech EVER!

After we were finished I took Kaylee to a local soda fountain (super cute old school fun) for a chocolate ice cream cone. She thought it was the BEST.DAY.EVER!

Let’s face it she got to see gum she swallowed, plus eat a HUGE chocolate ice cream all without Regan there. It was a pretty cool day for little miss. We find out the results in a few days.

Heaton Reunion

So about a year ago Jon had the awesome idea that we should have a reunion after his parents got home. It took that long to plan all the details, and was SO AWESOME! Jon’s oldest brother Josh has an awesome friend who’s family has a cabin in Show Low. And what they call a cabin we call and I will quote Kaylee, “The really really big giant house castle.” Man was that house big. It comfortably fit us all. Which is saying tons. There were 15 adults and 16 children 8yrs and younger. Yup 31 people and not feeling squished when everyone was inside. BIG HOUSE!

We made a craptastic piñata for the children. They did some awesome decorating on it before bashing it to pieces.

My all time FAVORITE picture of our trip is “drunk” Regan. Cracks me up every time I see it.

We of course took lots of group and individual family photos. Not too shabby for 31 people on a rainy Sunday afternoon. Thank you mister tripod! This was day one attempting to do some new photos for us. The children just were not feeling it.

This was attempt number 2. It went a tad better.

Jon and I decided to get silly. He was mostly trying to help me keep my cool during the situation. The children were just not wanting Mama to have a nice new everyone looking and smiling at the camera photo. Oh, well………..

Then we went and saw Jack’ee. She chopped mine and Kaylee’s hair. She also made us the most delish red velvet cake, and refused to let me get a picture of her. Kaylee and I are LOVING our new summer hair.

We had SO much fun visiting with everyone, and introducing Regan to family. He (we) had SO much fun visiting Grandma and Grandad Sapp. And we enjoyed delish party leftovers on our way home. Thanks Deb and Lauren for the yummyness! And a HUGE thanks you to Aunt Deb for mailing us back my Dad’s camera (that he foolishly trusted us with…. never again though…) that we left. (Ya, we are SO awesome!)

Easter

On Easter Sunday I fell in LOVE with the children’s outfits. And the sky was all cloudy and perfect. AND my parents were here with their nice Cannon Rebel. So I got myself some new family photos.

We drove ALL over Cedar and hit up tree different spots. Picking photos out of the bunch was WAY easy this year. I am SO excited!

I ordered the prints today and they will arrive just in time for Mother’s Day (It’s my annual gift from Jon and the children). YEA!

So here are the pictures that will be hanging in all their 11×14 glory in my living room.

Kaylee wanted the playground BAD! It was hard to hold on to her (little stinker!), but her wiggling was also making her and Regan laugh sooo……..

But then she gave me this beauty so all was forgiven. Then she ran off to play while we got some photos of Regan. We called it quits for the day when she started screaming from splitting her lip open (lots of blood).

We got some of Regan in the same tree (as above), but I just love his smile at our rock location, so this is the one I picked of him. Oh, I finally got him some suspenders. He wears them ALL. The. TIME. Going to get him more (gotta keep his pants up somehow)!

And all our sweet Mom’s/Grandma’s, don’t worry I ordered your copies as well. It is after all a Mother’s Day tradition now right? RIGHT.
