Pumpkin carving 2015

It’s been so hot here that I held off on carving the pumpkin until the day of. The kids did not appreciate waiting. I got everything all set out and ready to go and then made them wait even more while Jon helped me glue my hand. Emptying the dishwasher……. It’s perilous. Also I’m the reason we are a plastic dishes house. Jon has his pyrex bake wear, but everything else is stainless steal or plastic.IMG_0904 IMG_0909

They were pretty darn excited when it was FINALLY time.IMG_0911

Regan, “EWWW! Pumpkins are SO disgusting.” He ran off to his room and waited until the gross gutting was done.IMG_0912 IMG_0915

Kaylee was just the opposite. She got all up in there and was ripping all the seeds out.IMG_0916 IMG_0917

I had them draw what they wanted and carve it mostly solo. Kaylee’s side was vampire guts… Regan did a more traditional scary face.IMG_0919 IMG_0920

Then Kaylee decided to be “that” sibling and gross her brother out. IMG_0921 IMG_0923All in all a win for pumpkin carving this year.

Pinata gauntlet

I’ve been making pinatas for birthday gifts and fun for my nieces and nephews for years. Sarah who I share a birthday with has progressively been making increasingly complex pinata requests.

Nathan’s was EASY peasy with his request of King Piggy. Sarah’s Panda riding a Pink Dolphin

while holding a Blue heart with her name took a bit more effort. It’ll be interesting to see what she thinks up next year. HAHAHAHA. And now we smash for candy!

Hannah time

This school year I am picking up our neighbor friend from her school that is near our school. That means she goes with us to weekly immunology injections at the allergists office due to timing. She get her home work done in the van while we wait for Kaylee and Regan to be done with school. They end an hour after she does. And on clinic days she does homework in clinic with Kaylee and Regan. The girls HAVE to finish their homework before they can dive into the fashion magazines.

So nice having an additional motivator to just knock out home work quickly. Hannah is happy she does not have allergies and crappy skin!
