A couple of firsts and other AWESOME news!

(Every post deserves a picture… It’s hard to tell but my hand is all puffy, and bruised from the first IV attempt. My right hand did much better. The bruise keeps getting darker.)

So I’m starting to think going to L&D is just going to be our standard FHE activity for a while as I have weekly appts on Mondays. 🙂 Also I may have laughed too hard watching Jon Karaoke on Sunday night with friends… So wish I had the video camera! Any how the Doc. Sent us (me, Jon came too) to go get steroid shots as things are progressing despite our best efforts. He has also implemented actual bed rest, and put me on the oral form of the shots you get at the hospital. The Terutaline worked great to keep Kaylee in and we are hoping between the new drugs and bed rest to make it several more weeks. So besides being a bit emotional at having to be on bed rest I’m doing o.k. And am feeling so lucky and blessed to have such an awesome husband and R.S. to help me out with Kaylee and house stuff. Jon did all our laundry this weekend and I changed not one diaper! He really is just the best! O.K. now for fun stuff…

This weekend we had a couple of fun firsts for our family… Because of another fun filled trip to Labor and Delivery (had to go get shots to stop the way too frequent and way painful contractions) Kaylee got to have her first sleepover on Friday night! She did not care that she was getting dropped of at Jake and Cole’s. And was too busy playing the next morning to get too excited to see Jon. She had FUN! Jon and I did not have fun Friday night, but all is well and the kid is staying in for now. 🙂 Sunday Kaylee got to go to Nursery for the first time. Jon took her while I was teaching and said she did great. We knew she would have a blast, I was sad to miss dropping her off, but I did get to peek in on her a couple of times. She was totally blissed out. And the ladies in Nursery said she was great. Lets hope that this continues.

(Jon) I took her in there and she saw all of the other kids and got very excited. I was very much expecting there to be tears and screaming but there was not. So I thought take Lamby away and then there would be tears so I said can I have Lamby? She was like sure here and gave me Lamby and got down and started playing with the toys. I was very disappointed because I was certain she’d be devastated to leave us but she was not. On a more pleasant note she looked like such a little person with all the little humans in their tiny chairs and table and toys.

As for awesome news… My new sling is coming! Ora is AWESOME! She is just the most beautiful talented person! I am so excited to carry Regan around in the beautiful cozy soft sling that she made! It will be in the mail and to me soon! And wouldn’t you know just days before I get my new sling my old one turns up at the lost and found at church!!! Jon had just left Kaylee at Nursery and was walking past the library and they had a table set up with a sign said, “Please take me home.” Well there it was just sitting on the table with all the other lost things. So now I will have two slings which is perfect! Kaylee had a few blowouts while in the sling and it would have been so nice to have a spare and not have to wait to get the one washed. So we had a really really great Sunday! Kaylee loves Nursery (no surprise there), and Jon found my old sling! We think a Mom picked it up and forgot it was in her bag to drop at lost and found (so understandable as Mom’s are busy), and kept forgetting to bring it back to church to the lost and found. We looked several times there for it and finally gave up. Jon says look what happens when you pay your tithing. I say too true! So we had a weekend full of blessings. Thanks everyone for your prayers Friday night. And Jake and Cole for taking care of little miss so often for us. 4/5 more weeks and then my body is aloud to kick Regan out. 🙂 As for now LOTS of R&R and water (and of course the pills). Life is great, and the gospel is true! Happy week everyone!

Making room for two

So here’s what I’ve been VERY slowly up to with Jon’s help. We rearranged the nursery for two little ones. The before pictures are from a few weeks before Kaylee was born. We added more stuff like crib bedding and some pink and purple touches. For the kids sharing the room I gave each their own window shelf. And added a twin size bed for little miss. The crib is all ready for Regan. I’ve got his blankies all washed and ready for his use. Kaylee’s bed is very special. I made the quilt, the bed and box spring are borrowed from Grandma and Grandpa, all her sheets are from Yaya (2 sets, 1 is my old strawberry short cake set!), and of course her blankies from Great Grandma Sapp and Angie. She loves her big girl bed so very much. I love just how special it is all full of love.

Regan James’ 30 week 2 day ultrasound

We had a really good ultrasound today. We decided to leave Kaylee at the boy’s office with Uncle Jake as she did not do well at the last ultasound. She was so sad crying at the door while we drove away. Jon and I felt really bad. Jake said as soon as she couldn’t see us anymore and he called her name she was fine. The skittles helped. 🙂 She had lots of fun with Jake helping him work. We are so happy she has decided to like her Uncle Jake. The girls in the O.B.’s office were very happy to see Jon as they were having an issue with their copy machine. (Jon & Jake are their IT guys) A women in the waiting room got a weird look on her face as I sat down and Jon headed in to the office to see if the girls needed help with anything. Haha. It made me laugh. He got the machine all fixed just in time for us to hed back to the ultrasound room. Regan looks great! Very healthy and we think cute. I think he looks like Jon. The tech said he’s got lots of hair and is just over 3 lbs. I’m really hoping to have a little redhead. His femur measured 29 weeks. We are not too worried as it seems I make smallish babies. It’s always so fun and reassuring to see the little heart, lungs, and other organs working properly. We are getting so excited to meet Regan. I am very slowly getting things ready for him. I love watching his drawers fill up (courtesy of Cole). In other news Kaylee is 18 months old today! She is growing up so fast. Last night we put the box spring under her mattress and got her rail all set up. She will get the frame in a month or so. Those extra few inches of height from the box spring seems like a lot to me, but she loves it. She has her appointment scheduled for the middle of next month. We are hoping she’s getting closer to 20 lbs. Enjoy the photos!

He’s a little bit cute with his big ol’ Jon nose. 🙂
