It was maybe too quiet.

She was just right next to me sitting IN her toy tub. Emptied out first. So I decided to lean over and see just what was needing SUCH concentration. Since the camera was right next to me I clicked away.

She herd the camera so she looked up and shot me a cheesy. How thoughtful.

Yup, she’s peeling the paper off her crayon(s). And no she is not wearing any pants. I’ve decided not to ask since I know what she will say. She would just say very nonchalantly, “I fixing it.” In Kaylee’s world paper does NOT belong on crayons. I have spent may quiet hours (yes hours) helping her “fix” her crayons. She is VERY particular when it come to tactile sensations. She is growing out of her aversions. Earlier she was (shockingly) playing with some stickers. And band-aids and tape are o.k.ish now. It’s been a work in progress. Someday (hopefully before schooling) she will be o.k. with papered crayons.

Oh, and lately I’ve been telling her, “Be careful with that (insert injured body part here) Mommy and Daddy made it from scratch.” In a vain hope to get her to pay attention and avoid bodily harm. But alas she is a mini me in that regard. So now Miss has been finishing my sentence, or telling me, “careful mommy daddy scratch” when I hurt myself. She also says it to Regan when he has the rare (there is hope for the boy) bonk occur.

And a one last Kayleeism for your entertainment. She has taken to interrupting me during triple naming. I’ve only managed to get out the Kaylee Isabella before she VERY quickly says, “SHHhhh. It’s quiet time. shh.” Which never fails to make me laugh. Girl KNOWS how to push my buttons, but also knows how to VERY efficiently defuse the angry Mommy bomb.

We sure love our little Miss and her strange (but delightful) ways.

Negative.

Oh, HAPPY day! Today we are SO very o.k. with still not knowing what’s wrong with Regan. He is still having the BV even on the newest formula. But today that is JUST fine. His sweat test for CF tested negative. And it also only took a a 1/2 hour to get enough sweat. They said it could take up to an hour, so it was nice that it didn’t. The nurses just loved Regan. He didn’t try to rip off the test things, and was happy, chatty, and smiling with anyone who walked by. One nurse in passing said it was so nice to see a baby that wasn’t crying. Regan’s nurse Cyndi was very impressed with him. And very happy to tell us that the test was negative. While we were at the hospital Kaylee was enjoying time at a famous day spa. Have you herd of Aunti Lipgloss’? It’s the newest hot spot for a 2 year old to get a mani/pedi. All while watching a movie lounging on plush pillows, eating fruit snacks and popcorn. She just really did not miss us three at all. But really who could blame her?

HAPPY HAPPY week everyone. We are VERY busy at our house this week. I’ll post about that soonish. It’s all VERY exciting. Well to me anyway.

DONE!

4 days of canning peaches later….

This year I did 68 (that survived) quarts of peaches. (I know!)
47 for my parents, and 21 for us.
We had 3 casualties. Not to shabby.
Also made 12 jars of jam and fruit leather.
Wednesday I felt buried in peaches so I gave 4 VERY full grocery bags to some girlfriends.
I felt a bit less overwhelmed after they took theirs away. Thank you Ladies!
SO happy to be done. Jon was as ever my most awesome canning buddy (when home).
Feeling amazed at how much canning I’ve been able to do now that Kaylee has Regan to occupy her. He’s awesome that way.

Now I need to take back the kitchen…sigh… maybe in the morning….
