HOLEY BUCKET!!!!!!!

So Kaylee was due to try something new. I couldn’t decide between beans or eggs. So I had Jon pick. He said to give her eggs. Then I was debating whether or not to give her a whole egg or just the yolk to try first. I decided to give her the whole thing. So I got her all set up with her dinner, then started on dinner for Jon and me. I wasn’t really focused on her as I was cooking. I kept looking at her and telling her to try the eggs. She finally decided that she would. Well just a couple of minutes later Jon was home and she was really starting to fuss. I still hadn’t REALLY looked at her. Usually the first five minutes of Kaylee eating dinner are pretty quiet as she stuffs her face, then when she’s not starving anymore she gets really chatty as she finishes. So I wasn’t really thinking anything of her carrying on until Jon got sick of and told her if she didn’t stop he’d give her a reason to fuss. Well that comment made me REALLY look at Kaylee. I felt soooo bad she was so puffy around her eyes and lips! I told Jon to get her cleaned and out so we could give her some benedryl, and he said she can not be allergic to EVERYTHING! He got her out and they played for a bit, and I watched as she got puffier while I finished making dinner for us. Jon finally admitted that she was indeed having an allergic reaction (after she sneezed lots in his hair during a shoulder ride hehe) to the eggs and we gave her some benedryl. She started to deflate over the next few hours, and by the next day was looking pretty normal. Just a little red around the eyes and lips. She’s all back to normal now, Thank heaven! It’s by far been the worst food reaction we have had so far. And the only one Jon’s been sad about. He doesn’t like broccoli or asparagus so he didn’t mind that her body reacted bad to those two. But he really likes eggs, and her little body REALLY doesn’t. So here are a couple of photos of Kaylee all puffy, and one where she’s all back to normal so you can really SEE the difference. This is the reason why we only do one new food a week. I’ve given her just egg yolk the past couple of days and at first thought she was doing o.k., but she’s starting to get a rash around her mouth so maybe not? We will see…

Right after Benedryl. 1/2 of it got on her instead of in her because of her super puffy lips.

About 5-10 min. after the Benedryl, and already starting to feel better. Look at the hive on her lip!

Two days latter all deflated and back to “normal”.

Kaylee’s 1st Birthday Party

So here are some pictures of Kaylee at her party. It was tons of FUN, and she sure enjoyed herself. Cake, Pinata, and gifts, what more could she ask for? We would like to thank everyone who was able to come and celebrate with us. The two pictures on the sides are of her on her actual birthday. Her stats from her WCC today are: weight: 16 lbs. 15 oz. 2%, height: 27 3/4 in. 13 %. Birth stats were: weight: 6 lbs. 6 oz. 5%, height: 19 in. She didn’t get any vaccines today due to the oral steroids she was on. So she gets her shots in three weeks. Although she has been consistently small she has done lots of growing this past year. She’s eating tons of different food, and is so far only allergic to broccoli, asparagus, and eggs. I know so sad. She got put on Zertec today. She says Mom, Dad, all done, oops, ya, Yaya, do you, hi, uh oh, ta da, yes, and many more words. She chatters at us all the time. She love reading (she reads to us), being read to, playing Starfall, talking on the phone, anything electronic, going on walks, playing with her Daddy, anything with her Mommy, singing, and of course Lamby. She gets closer to walking everyday and is everyday doing something new. Today I offically packed up the last of her 0-3 month outfits (yes she still wore some). She is mostly in 6-9 months with a chunk still being in 3-6 months. I tried on one of her new 12 month outfits on her today just to see… can we say elephant skin? I decided to still put them in her room so she could wear them on occasion. I may have to safety pin them, but they are so cute I want her to wear them. She got lots of dresses and those are easier to wear big. It’s been an amazing year, and everyday Jon and I feel so blessed to have Kaylee in our lives. She is the most amazing gift, and we are so thankful for her.
We love you baby girl! -Love, Mommy & Daddy.

From head bands & mohawks. To pigtails & knots. This is Kaylee’s 12 month evolution of hair do’s.

So I decided to do something different than the typical slide show to show Kaylee’s first year. These are most of the hair styles that we have tried on Kaylee during her first 12 months of life. There are a few missing that I didn’t get photos of, but oh well. I had lots of fun finding new hair do’s other than the typical pigtails. Some are cute and some are funny. There is a cRaZy one to show just how long her hair has grown. We even cut 2 inches off of it after Thanksgiving. I like that you can see how much she has grown just by her face. And since these are all candid shots you also get to see a variety of facial expressions. She loves to brush her own hair, and sits relatively still while I do her hair. And here’s why…

Also ignore my cabinets. I started to refinish them, and haven’t quite finished. 🙂 And I’m still working on her birthday photos. They are coming promise. 🙂
