a lovely visit

Last night I was one lucky gal and got to spend a couple hours with some of my lovely ladies. It was a bit of a surprise. I wanted to go, but Jon NEEDED to work late all this week to get some projects done (got to pay bills) and since we are a one car family I had given up hope. So when Mckayle called and asked me to watch her boys Thursday night I said yes.

So I was just sitting around the house doing my Mama thing when Jon calls to tell me he is coming home “early” so I can go to the party and that he will watch the four kiddos!!! (I may have cried with joy…)

YUP! BEST Husband EVER!

So I got to go have a lovely visit with all my wonderful ladies!

I haven’t seen Dorothy in 5 1/2 years. She’s been in Thailand working hard to help everyone in the 10/40 window. She does some AMAZING work over there. She’s in the country for a bit to visit people she hasn’t seen in years. Then she is going back to Thailand.

And the rest of my lovelies I saw last at Kaylee’s baby shower 3 1/2 years ago. So it’s been a while.

I let Sally know last minute that I was going to make it. She kept it a secret from everyone. I got quite the reaction when I arrived. It was awesome!

Dorothy, Me, Sally, Alicia, Lovely lady I never worked with and have forgotten her name (yes I feel bad!),Val, Malynne.
This is how much fun I had EVERY day working with these awesome amazing women! They are crazy FUN!

Malynne (in red) was the wonderful lady who took a chance on me by giving me a job at TLC. She was an awesome boss.

Dorothy (in dark blue) gave me my second job/promotion at TLC. She was also just the best boss ever.

Those two ladies are the BEST bosses I’ve EVER had. They had endless patience for me as I learned. I feel SO lucky and blessed that I got them.

Sally, Chris (had to leave for a bit, but came back later after I had gone home.), Dorothy.

My first year or so at TLC I had the pleasure of having my desk next to Chris. And Sally (funniest accountant I’ve ever known) was one room over. These three women really looked out for me while I worked at TLC. They are funny, wise, loving, and strong! I learned so much from their examples.

I had SO SO SO much fun working with these AMAZING women at TLC. They taught me so much and I am ever grateful for their examples and love and for them taking me under their “wings” and showing me the way.

really… snow…

(A view of my back yard through the sliding glass doors.)

I am so sick of weather whiplash. Last weekend the children ran through sprinklers in swimsuits while I weeded the flower bed. LOTS of sunblock was used (Not on Jon. He got burned).

Now…. Well Kaylee is ready to go out and build a snowman and have a snowball fight. “Mom. Wake up! It’s beautiful snowing outside!” is not really my favorite way to wake up on a mid-May morning.

Meanwhile on “the bright side” I guess the cold weather is sorta helping me not run into the bathroom with the kitchen scissors. I will probably make it until July (I promised Jack’ee she could chop and color it), when we go down to AZ. And warm weather makes a person (me) want short hair.

Is it too much to ask for a little consistency weather wise? I mean I JUST packed up the children’s winter wear and pulled out shorts………….

hair help

So the last 2ish years I’ve been growing out my hair for Locks of love. It’s just about time to chop it off. I am so EXCITED to get it cut. You have NO idea! I am not changing the color (Jon was all “ooh blond huh?!” And I was all “um nope!”). So these are the different styles I’m liking. We are sort of leaning toward #4, but want some input on what others think I can pull off. Cause it’s sort of a big deal to chop off 10+ inches and even though I am SO looking forward to short hair (it’s what I prefer) I’m a bit nervous to pick out a cut. So I’d like some help please (and don’t be shy!)……
