a fort with cousins

When I was little one of my favorite things to do was build forts. Inside or outside. I LOVE LOVE LOVE building them for the children. It is so much more fun to read books, have indoor picnics, or just snuggle while watching a show when it’s inside a fort.

This time it was more exciting because we had guests. Cassie was so cute, “It’s a castle!” And Nathan who was preoccupied on the computer while I built the fort asked in amazement, “WOW! Hey how did you do that?!”

I also love how as I start to build the children will run to their room to grab their pillows and blankets. Kaylee likes to make sure there is a pillow and blanket for everyone, and Regan has picked up on that and helps her gather while I get the fort up.

4.7.2012

So this years photos were super fun. Shannon took us to the CUTEST park. I am already planning on going back this October for our Christmas card photo.

It was crazy, but fun doing both families. We just kept passing the camera back and forth between us and snapping random and posed photos.

These first 3 are in the FedEx van (11×14 awesomeness) on their way to the house right now! SO excited to get them up on my wall.

The rest are the others that we liked as well.

We rode the cute carousal. My two were not up for riding a horse. Luckily they had options.

On a train ride.

And to top it off I got Josh to go with us! So we got new photos of him as well. He doesn’t know it, but he’s going up on the living room wall too! Although I did his as an 8×10 so he wouldn’t harass me as much over it. Just wish I could have convinced him to hold some balloons…

We were teaching Kaylee “Elbow, elbow, wrist, wrist, wrist. “, while on our train ride/tour. If the children would have been looking at the camera this one would have been the living room wall photo. It just cracks me up.

Anniversary and Adotion

SIX YEARS!!!!

Not gonna lie. We are pretty excited about this years anniversary. The children had a sleepover at the cousins house (so we could dinner/movie the night before), and then spent ALL day there playing while Jon and I went to our Adoption Academy.

It was an awesome experience, as well as being super informative. We had MANY questions answered, and gained a greater appreciation/respect/love for birth parents than we already had.

Needless to say we had a wonderful anniversary (Thanks SO much Day family), and are excited about the many adventures this next year will bring us.

A quick photo of us on our anniversary.

When we got home later that night we had family movie night. I took the following photos while we waited for Jon to go back to the Day’s and grab Kaylee’s forgotten meds. I don’t usually let the children get all crazy on beds, but I felt like this was a good way to keep them busy and get some fun pictures while we waited for Daddy.

Jon snapped this one of me and my babes when he got back. Tonight’s show was an episode of Tail Spin. We LOVE family movie/show time.

***Jack’ee do you SEE my roots (how can you not!), I am super excited to see you for a nice long visit, and to FIX my hair situation.***
