Snow day

223
Day three was a relaxing day spending time with the cousins at Grandma’s house. Day four was SNOW DAY!  All the kiddos were excited to head up to Cedar and play in the snow.
224
Kaylee remembers snow. Regan does not. He foolishly dove into the snow before we finished gearing him up. He quickly learned that one NEEDS gloves for making snow balls.

Kaylee was most excited to make snow angels.

We tool the kids to the smaller slopes so they could climb up themselves. It’s a work out hauling kids up snowing slopes. Them crawling up most of the time help a ton!

Shannon and Dwayne tried racing, but Shannon totally biffed it. It was very funny.

Shannon helping her Daddy-O down the hill with a swift kick to the tukkis. You can see my dying with laughter in the background! Too Funny!

And this is how our adventure ended. Kaylee got mowed over (by that I mean she got bumped into. not hard.) twice in a row, and her (loose) gloves popped off. After that she was DONE. “My hands are freezing, and I’m NEVER going to see them again!”
Not dramatic at all that one.
Regan looked the same because he was NOT done. We didn’t get a photo of his sad face though.
I must say visiting the snow is SO much nicer than living in it!

Day two. Visiting St. George.

182
Wednesday afternoon we headed up to visit my side. The children had so much fun with Great Grandma Joanie. They got rides, colored, and just had fun with her. I heard some family stories that were new to me which was exciting. I love my Grandma and it’s always nice to visit with her.

Jon has for years wanted to switch out my Dad’s old HEAVY t.v. with the nicer one from upstairs. So that’s what he and Barry did. It was funny to watch and looks so much nice now.

Aunt Linda, and Jadzia (and briefly Uncle Jamie) came over to play games and visit. Poor Cassie Joan was sick so we didn’t get to see her this visit.

Kaylee got into my Mom’s essential oils and burned her face a bit thus the redness. So sad. And Regan “helped” Uncle Barry make friendly brownies and got covered in cocoa powder.

Papa and his shirt. I for some reason don’t have one of my Mom with hers….

I had Barry this year for the gift exchange. I made him a t-shirt, and a Teach the Children story kit for his future family.

So that was day two of our Christmas vacation.

Christmas 2012

Day one of our five day Christmas vacation.
002
Kaylee woke up bright and EARLY Christmas morning. Like 5:30 AM. WIDE awake and SO SO excited. We pulled her into bed with us and she snuggled, but did not fall back to sleep. At 7:30 I tossed her in the shower, and did some last minute laundry and packing of the toiletries.
Regan woke up at around 8, and we watched a movie while we waited for Jon to wake up.
Jon read to us out of Luke before we opened presents and talked about the real reason we celebrate Christmas. It was nice. I think Kaylee get’s it. Hopefully next year Regan will too.

These are just a few of our favorite gifts. All of us got SUPER spoiled by everyone.

Regan was  beyond thrilled with his new Buzz Lightyear jammies. “Buzz Lightyear! I LOVE Buzz Lightyear!”

Kaylee was equally excited as you can see by her new Tinker Bell Dress up and purple bike helmet. Jon fixed up her bike tires and she has been out riding a bit since.
116
I made Regan a shield. I was very happy with how well it went over. He knew right away what it was and started playing right away.

I made Jon a flag sign for when we go camping. He mentioned months ago at our ward campout that he wanted one. He was laughing SO hard and is excited to use it for our next camping trip.

Jon got me a Garmin. And I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. I have THE worst sense of direction EVER! I am always calling him and asking him to help find me and bring me home. Until now Jon has been my GPS.  The Garmin will for sure make life easier!

I got the kids this tea set to replace the porcelain set that had more in the trash than left to it. Kaylee was all, “It’s plastic! Regan can’t break it!!!”
After opening presents we loaded into the rental car and drove up to Utah. After our arrival and once we got settled in the children helped opened more presents with/for Grandma and The Grandpaaa.
153
I made the all the grandparents t-shirts with their name and year they became grandparents on it.

The children were especially excited about the HUGE box of chocolate that Grandma and Grandpa let them open. Regan said, “Chocolate! I WIN!” We had to break the news to him that these chocolates were ouchy tushie chocolates and he couldn’t eat any.
It was a different, but still VERY nice Christmas day.
