Our second week taking our newbies to church. I don’t think church is going to be very spiritually uplifting for a while. SUPER rough.

1st day of Karate
Regan is NOT a good sport. He lives in a black and white world where the point of playing a game/sport is to win. IF you don't win then it's ALL bad. And the scene he makes is all bad. It's hang your parent head in shame and pray it ends soon bad.
We have spent that last couple of years TRYING to channel his super competitive/black/white personality toward something that he can do successfully without "failing."
Well after much prayer and consideration we signed Regan up for Karate. Uniforms are optional so we will see if he likes Karate enough to do more that one semester, if he does we will suit up.
Jon takes him. They are loving the Daddy Son time.
He LOVED the first class. Came home and it was Sensei this and Sensei that. Apparently Sensei can do no wrong. He gets weekly homework. First weeks homework is "no arguing with parents." I might be in wove with Sensei.
Reset
So we've decided to get Kaylee stated on allergy shots. Her skin is SO bad. Her most recent allergy panel came back with her being allergic to everything that grows in AZ. So she constantly breaking out year round as different things are blooming. Regan is NOT quite as bad so we are holding off on shots. Their allergist wanted them to do a dietary reset in conjunction with their new medication/skin routine to get a jump start on their skin healing up.
So we cut the following for a month: dairy, tree nuts, peanuts, chicken, eggs, corn, soy, wheat, and oats.
People kept asking me "What do you eat?!"
Food. We eat food. Really yummy expensive food. I have kids they wont eat it if it's not good.
So I started taking pictures of some of our meals we eat during allergy reset.
Rice noodles in a "creamy" butternut squash, bratworst, and peas. This was our "Mac n' Cheese" night. They liked it enough for seconds.
Ham, potatoes with palm oil for the "butter", and peas.
Grilled Tilapia, grilled brussel sprouts/green beans and rice.
Black beans, rice, veggies. My kids don't like dip. So they didn't miss it. Plus we usually do hummus when I can get them to dip veggies….
This is the before the reset/new meds. Also before we started weekly shots. This was her "normal." Bloody sheets every night from scratching in her sleep. And then being tired from not getting quality sleep. Sad. Just sad.
This is half of their new routine. Our medicine cupboard is FULL of allergy/skin crap. Nightly shower, followed by a 20 min bleach bath (like pool water to prevent infection), steroid cream, olive oil, cereve, Vaseline. All in thick goopy layers. And hand socks. NEVER forget the hand socks.
LOOK at their skin!!!!! Snacking on apple slices and homemade nutella.
Kabobs and rice rolls.
Rice crackers, carrots, grapes, ham rolls for lunch today. And such "normal" skin!
Guacamole, and bean chips for snack. This is about day 15 and I am starting to REALLY drag my feet on getting her shots started. The needing an EpiPen and "her skin will get worse before it gets better" were becoming a MAJOR road block for me. She and Jon bullied me into shots. BULLIED. I just kept hearing the Dr.'s voice telling me it would get worse while looking at her pretty skin and seeing her comfortable for the first time EVER and I just really didn't want the worse part. You know?
Pork chops, savory rice, and peas. They were on a peas kick this month. I let them pick their dinner veggie.
Cheeseless, wheat free pizza. Cauliflower crust, and extra pepperoni. It was actually good. A pain in the butt to make, but good.
Steak fajitas over rice, guacamole, pinto beans.
Wheat/dairy/egg free blueberry pancakes, corn free syrup, bacon, and o.j.
Rice flour tortilla burrito. Loaded with beans and salsa.
"Hamburger" night. Home fries, yellow squash, zucchini, onions, and hamburger patties. They don't always pick peas. 😉
Homemade chocolates for today's snack. They had fun making the chocolate squares and then eating them.
Corn/soy free potato chips are HARD to find. And they are pricey. Why? Also hotdogs are tricky. Hebrew National was our former go to. They are out. But Ballpark All Beef Franks are in. So yea!
And our favorite meal. Rice, chili (homemade), lettuce, tomatoes, onions, with squeezed lie/lemon juice on top. Usually we add cheese, but never for Regan and it's yummy without it.
