We made my parents a ruler so they can measure the grandkids. It’s actually super helpful because my Mom was convinced that Kaylee just doesn’t grow. Ever. Our sweet Shrimpy McShorty is a slow and steady kinda gal. No major growth spurts for her. So having visual proof of growth is comforting for those who don’t get to see Kaylee’s growth charts and stuff.
Regan was a little more generous with his self measurement than Kaylee was.Typical shenanigans. When you can’t find a ruler to mark on your ruler….. notebook. It’s ruler official. Regan is taller. Good thing his big sister is a bundle of concentrated self confidence. She doesn’t need to be taller because she’s older and always will be. We need baby Logan’s measurements up there asap.

Visiting The Grandpaaa in the hospital
Jon’s Dad has been sick and finally went in to get checked out. And then his liver started to fail. So we packed up bags and picked up some Aunts and Uncles and headed to Utah. We were praying that it was NOT to say goodbye.
We spent a good portion of our weekend visiting The Grandpaaa in the hospital.
He still made it fun for these two. Because that’s how he is.
With all his boys. Grandpa started getting better. Yea. 🙂 So Sunday afternoon we headed back to Phoenix. Still waiting on all his labs and tests and such to find out what is going on.
32nd birthday
Since we were unexpectedly in Utah for my birthday I got to go and have a visit with my sweet Grandma. Jon and Regan were at the hospital with Jon’s Dad having just the boys time. So we got to have some fun shopping and visiting for just the girls time. Woot!
Part of shopping was getting me a birthday flan. Do you like my super annoyed mom face? Ya. My little buddy was having a melt down because, 1) He didn’t get to make me a cake, and 2) the cake I picked was full of dairy and eggs. Not kid friendly. This was strictly a grown up dessert. We did buy dessert for the kids and Jon (he doesn’t do flan).
And here we have a fake smile, because I had Regan melting down off camera. It was a happy sad day/birthday. Lots of fake smiling.
Kaylee was being hysterical. She was super happy to be singing to me. He was truly devastated. My birthday flan was a last straw emotionally for him. Too many big feelings happening too close together. He misses our foster kids, Grandpa is in the hospital, he had to miss his first ever school field trip, and one of his favorite school friends birthday party all on the same weekend. So ya, my birthday flan broke him.
