Heading to Utah

After getting back to the school from Kaylee’s field trip we picked up Regan and headed out of town. We were hoping to be on the road by 3:30. We were on the road by 3:15! That NEVER happens.

The kids had their books and stuff to keep occupied until the sun went down. We are pretty lucky that they are so great on road trips. IMG_2225

They were watching Rapunzel and needed long hair. They thought they were hysterical. IMG_2226We got to St. George at about 10:30. Then a quick shower and snuggle before bed. They were educating Yiayai on all thing Ninjago. It’s gonna be a fun Thanksgiving break!

It cracks me up how my Mom makes the kids look extra white. 😉

Papago Park – UFA picnic

We had a family picnic in the park with our local chapter of United For Adoption. It’s always so fun to get together with friends who have been there done that in the adoption world.
IMG_1953 IMG_1965PLUS this happened. It’s been two months since we last saw these faces. We have SO missed them. Getting the text last night from their Mom that they were going to be able to make it was the best ever! So much love and hugging happened.IMG_1981

R took a bit to warm up to me, but he was happy to see everyone else. He did give me two asked for hugs, and then right when we were saying goodbye he gave me a voluntary hug! 🙂IMG_1998 (1)

We got some great shots of our family and their new family all together. I might be able to share those someday. Hopefully they will get to finalize the adoption by the end of the year. 🙂

I asked Kaylee how many cookies she had. Mouth full she held up three fingers. I cut her off. Vegan (because I have kids with allergies) pumpkin chocolate chip with cinnabun frosting. SO yummy!

These girls. IMG_2011Such a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon. Also it’s National Adoption Day today. I forgot until new Mom mentioned it.

Regan’s first allergy shots

So it begins. This week we (Me and the nurses) came to appreciate Kaylee’s stoic behavior with shots on a whole new level. It’s gonna be a rough 52 weeks of shots. Poor dude.

That face. I hate that they have to go through this. Hate. But we have tried EVERYTHING else for their skin. Yes, that. We have tried that.IMG_1908I did have to laugh at my little paparazzi in training. She was all up in our faces with the camera. I had to ask her to stop. 15 photos was plenty. She got some great tear shots though.
