Party for Regan

So the sunday after Regab turned two we had The Day’s over and and a small party for Regan. I made him one of his favorite meals (curry and quinoa). And got him a gluten free brownie mix that I made egg and dairy free for him to have with his coconut milk ice cream.

We of course had a piñata and some awesome dancing. It was a fun little party with the cousins. Here are some of the many photos I took of the event.

Olé! Thats what I think of whenever Regan strikes his “cheese” pose.

So ready to eat his “special” brownies. Jon said I really shouldn’t call them that. It just kept coming out of my mouth in reference to his allergy friendly brownies. They were quite good. We have since bought more for him/us.

The lit candle freaked him out.

He wouldn’t blow it out.

So I helped him.

He was grateful.

And didn’t hesitate to dig in!

Not Jon’s best cupcakes. He blamed the move and not having all his stuff out of boxes yet. The children liked them though.

Happy birthday boy.

Olé!!!

We hadn’t put up curtains yet. So Jon used a curtain rod to hoist the piñata for the children.

It’s his party. Pants were optional.

Cassie wanted a turn BAD!

The children were instructed to give Regan ALL the Dum Dums. He was thrilled with all his pops.

Jon opened his gifts for him as he was too into a pop to really care about gift opening.

He got some fun stuff and has since enjoyed all gifts. You know after the sucker was gone.

And then they danced. It was quite the 2 year old bash.

Regan James 2 years old and a WCC

My baby is 2!!! Crazy super fast how that happened. His birthday this year landed on a Tuesday in the middle of new house reno. So I snapped my traditional B-day shoot and headed out to paint. We had a little party for him that weekend. But here is what he looked like the day he turned 2.

Photos taken 11/16/2011 on the Day family couch.

Aunt Shannon was trying to get him to do his fingers and say “I’m two.” We are still working on that.

Today at his WCC:
Height: 26.9 inches
Weight: 24.6 lbs

Poor kiddo got shots today at the new Dr.’s office. He was not pleased. Other than the shots and being an EXTRA long visit going over his medical history (think I scared his new Dr. a little… poor guy.), his 2 year well child check went great. He is still gaining weight and height, and is right on track with his fine/gross motor skills and his expressive/receptive language skills.

Dr. M is going to give us a referral for a new pediatric G.I. Dr. for Regan as he doesn’t feel comfortable treating something he has never even heard of (Really not surprised. Who on earth aside from G.I. Dr.s knows what CLN is?). I was happy with his game plan as I was hoping for a referral anyway.

So we have a primary care Dr. (Who I so far like. Easy to talk to and thorough with his exam and questions, and happy to answer all of mine.) and are going to have a new G.I. Dr. soon. So I just need to pin down a dentist for the kiddos.

I hate finding new Dr.s.

Party photos coming soon. I am a bit behind in blogging our recent activities. Moving/house reno sure messed up my routine.

Moving day and a Kayleeism

So this is moving day. I woke up early to get last minute stuff done and make sure we got to the airport in time.

We were pretty lucky that Dwayne was able to fly us. I’m not gonna lie pulling up to the gate, walking to the plane and taking off is the ONLY way to fly. It was SO easy and SO much nicer than driving 7 hours with the children behind the moving van/Jon. (Actually because of weather it took him 11 hours.)

We were late. Give you one guess why….

“Mom Regan James Heaton opened your rojo lipstick. It’s o.k. I took it away from him and put it away. I the best helper huh Mama?!”

So that happened. Awesome huh? (It’s not easy to scrub red lip gloss off skin with baby wipes. Really needed a thick face towel with lots of soap which was all packed….)

The children were thrilled to see Jon. Here is where we (Dwayne) punched in the code to get to the plane.

There was a blizzard blowing in. Sooooo windy. Jon was trying to make a wind break for Regan

Getting into the plane.

She was so excited that she buckled herself in.

My boys. This was taken right before Jon left. And right before Regan realized that his daddy was not coming with him. He was not pleased. Not at all.

She quickly got over that fact that she needed to be in her car seat.

So we could hear/talk to Dwayne. Doesn’t she look cute in her headset?

Regan passed out about 10-15 minutes into the 2 hour flight. He would wake up and give me crusties whenever we hit turbulence. Lots at first due to the storm that was blowing in. He woke up as we were descending to land. He did great. SO awesome for his first flight.

Had to get a picture of our pilot/bro-in-law/Dwayne doing his thing.

All the turbulence was upsetting Kaylee’s (recently recovered from the stomach ick) tummy. She requested (but never actually used) a puke bag.

Dwayne came prepared with grocery bags for the kids. He said that the regular puke bags just wouldn’t work. The bag gave Kaylee much comfort.

She was pretty miserable for a while before she passed out.

But she too slept for most of the flight.

My view out the window was pretty amazing. We also flew OVER another small plane which was just neat.

Kids loaded into the truck ready to make the 5-10 minute drive to the Day house. Kaylee said flying was “AWESOME!” And that she was ready to do it again. Regan seemed indifferent when asked about it.

Dwayne just pushed the plane back into it’s hanger and then we headed home for lunch. Not a bad way to start a new adventure in a new state.
