It was maybe too quiet.

She was just right next to me sitting IN her toy tub. Emptied out first. So I decided to lean over and see just what was needing SUCH concentration. Since the camera was right next to me I clicked away.

She herd the camera so she looked up and shot me a cheesy. How thoughtful.

Yup, she’s peeling the paper off her crayon(s). And no she is not wearing any pants. I’ve decided not to ask since I know what she will say. She would just say very nonchalantly, “I fixing it.” In Kaylee’s world paper does NOT belong on crayons. I have spent may quiet hours (yes hours) helping her “fix” her crayons. She is VERY particular when it come to tactile sensations. She is growing out of her aversions. Earlier she was (shockingly) playing with some stickers. And band-aids and tape are o.k.ish now. It’s been a work in progress. Someday (hopefully before schooling) she will be o.k. with papered crayons.

Oh, and lately I’ve been telling her, “Be careful with that (insert injured body part here) Mommy and Daddy made it from scratch.” In a vain hope to get her to pay attention and avoid bodily harm. But alas she is a mini me in that regard. So now Miss has been finishing my sentence, or telling me, “careful mommy daddy scratch” when I hurt myself. She also says it to Regan when he has the rare (there is hope for the boy) bonk occur.

And a one last Kayleeism for your entertainment. She has taken to interrupting me during triple naming. I’ve only managed to get out the Kaylee Isabella before she VERY quickly says, “SHHhhh. It’s quiet time. shh.” Which never fails to make me laugh. Girl KNOWS how to push my buttons, but also knows how to VERY efficiently defuse the angry Mommy bomb.

We sure love our little Miss and her strange (but delightful) ways.

updates and such

“Unkie Jots” came to visit on his way down to Phoenix. I was so happy to be able to get these super cute photos of Josh and Regan. I only snapped these three and was happy to stop at perfection before either of these boys were done posing. They were so good to humor me and my photo taking obsession. We hope Josh had a lovely vacation, and we hope to have another visit from him soon.

And now for a Regan update:

We had our appointment with the pediatric Gastroenterologist. He asked LOTS of questions. Which was good. He then decided that we should try a different formula for a couple of weeks. It’s even more broken down and so it smells so much worse. Poor Regan doesn’t really like it. I don’t blame him the smell makes me gag. Pre-digested ick! But hopefully it will do the trick. Dr. “K” also ordered a test for Cystic Fibrosis (CF). He said it was possible that Regan may have CF. We are praying that the test has a negative reading and that Regan does NOT have CF. Jon is going to get the test scheduled ASAP. However if the test comes back negative and the new formula doesn’t help, our poor Regan will most likely have to get the scope and biopsy done. So that is where we are at……

Labor Day (a day to labor)

We (Jon, Mom K, Me) envied these two on Monday evening. We spent ALL day canning peaches. My word my parents got A TON (o.k. it was about 300 lbs) of peaches. And by 2:30 am Tuesday it did not look as if we made a dent in the peach pile. We were able to see the fruits of our labor. We canned 48 quarts, 12 8 oz jars of jam, and made fruit leather. And that’s just my parents stash. Jon and I will be quite sick of peaches by the end of the week when we (hopefully) are finished with our stash. But it is so worth it, and we will be happy to have all these peaches ready to eat and bake with all winter (and longer) long. Oh, and Lamby is back. You can see him snuggled in Kaylee’s arms. She is suffering with a head cold, cutting her 2 year old molers, and on top of that a UTI. Poor kid woke up the other night screaming in a state of feverish delirium that she needed Lamby. So Lamby she was given. She’s good about only having Lamby to sleep with so it’s just fine that Lamby is back. She has been on antibiotics for 2 days and is already back to her old self. Yea for modern medicine and for my Mom recognizing the signs of a UTI and insiting we take a trip to instacare. I’ve never had one so I didn’t know…..
