A date and a Kayleeism

I read the story to the children today. It’s such a romantic day. It was of course a children’s version of the story, but still good. Then Carter came over and we made conversation heart cookies. (Sugar cookies, heart cutter, food color pens = FUN!) Happy Valentines Day!

The Kayleeism:

Last night Jon and I were in bed watching a NOVA special. (NOVA rocks!) Kaylee and Regan were eating dinner and finishing up Lilo & Stitch. Well Kaylee finished and ran into our room announcing, “We need to take a bath!” So I asked why (she was clean). She replied, “This toe right here is dirty,“ while bending down and pointing to one big toe.

We laughed. And then a few minutes later discovered that Regan NEEDED a bath. (re-fried black beans EVERYWHERE!) So Kaylee got to have her bath and clean her dirty toe. She was pleased.

a Kayleeism and a Reganism

They are the BEST!!! Really. What 2 year old and 1 year old clean the house for their gimpy Mama? See?! THE. BEST. CHILDREN. EVA!!!

They are soo good for each other.

Kaylee we swear has a bit of OCD going on. EVERYTHING has to be JUST so. And in order. It’s amusing.

Regan is “The Master of Disaster”. He is such a BOY! We love it. And we know he is feeling better. (Jon had me laughing as he was cleaning up after Regan made a HUGE mess. Saying he almost missed the old Regan who just sat and smiled.)

They are teaching each other their ways.

Kaylee is learning to let the little things go.

Regan is starting to copy his sister in the ways of order.

We hope they find balance.

(The cleaning is over, and now it looks like a toy bomb has gone off in the living room. See? Balance…. Balance it good.)

Kayleeism

(Kaylee can pass out anywhere! Here she is power napping.)

This is what happens to Kaylee after playing with her Carter. He wears her out! It’s one of the many reasons we love him.

Our sweet friends watched the children for us on Monday afternoon so Jon could take me to the Doctor’s.

Kaylee took a power nap after we brought her home. When she woke up she realized that one of her many babies was left in the car.

This is what happened as recorded in her journal for me by Jon:

Tonight Kaylee came into our room saying “I need my baby. It’s in a car. Go get it Daddy”. We left the baby out in the car and Janice said it’s dark and scary outside. And that Daddy would get the baby tomorrow.

Kaylee walked away moping. Later she came back and said “Come on Dad you a scaredi cat?” She repeated this several times taunting Daddy. This involved lots of gesturing and funny body language. We were laughing so hard!

Jon said I’m not a scaredi cat and went to get the baby out of the car. By the way it is 8 degrees outside.

When Jon went to get the baby out of the car he said “Where’s my boots?” Kaylee said “Boobs are right here” pointing to her chest.

So there you have it. Boots and Boobs sound the same to a tired Kaylee. And her Daddy is NOT a scaredi cat.
