Kaylee had her very first visit with the eye doctor. She loved it. The Dr. and staff were awesome, and we all had fun. Regan and I were surprisingly entertained watching her exam. They were very thorough and she had her eyes dilated. She got to sport these rockin' shade for a couple hours. And she was a crack up that evening doing her homework. She was insistent that she needed to do it that night, and not the next day before school. She couldn't decided if she needed to have her face close to or far from the paper. And it was crazy sloppy. I sent a note to her teacher. Oh, and her eyes are perfect. So, yea!

Grandma and Grandpa visit
Grandma and Grandpa came down for a few days to visit and go to a family friends wedding reception.
Joel saved our butts, and was ever helpful around the house. I am not allowed to use the lawn edger (some such nonsense about me losing toes….), and Jon in his current state cannot do the job either. SO best father-in-law ever knocked out this sweaty chore for us. The lawn looks SO much better now.
He also was our third driver/tier filler upper. Punk kids deflated a couple of the vans tiers, and that popped out a nail from one of them. So Joel filled them up and followed Jon to the tire shop to get the hole fixed, took Jon to work, came back over to the house, finished edging, waited for me to get back from taking Kaylee to school, then went with me to pick up the van and take it Jon so he would have a car to drive home so I wouldn't have to worry about picking him up after work. Longest winded sentence ever.
Kaylee and Regan checking out Grandma's new ride. It is SO nice.
Kaylee being cheesy on our "just the girls adventure" with Grandma and Shannon. We went wedding gift shopping. And jewelry shopping.
The munchkins and Grandpa at the reception.
The children asked if they could go into the foyer and get their wiggle out. GO.WIGGLE.The bride and groom had a PINATA! Hello. LOVE.THEM. I so want a reception do over so I can have a pinata. How fun is this?!
We swung by the temple just because it was there and so were we. So pretty.
Regan was quite relaxed on the way home.

A Sabbath miracle! Everyone is looking AND smiling.
Good times people. Good times.
Kaylee ties her own shoes!
"I did it! It was hard, but I kept pracasing. I never gave up. I got frustrated, but I remembered to take a deep breath, and keep trying. And Look Mom. I did it!"
Kaylee was very excited to when she got lace up shoes. She was very eager to learn to tie her own shoes. We've been practicing almost every day before school. Some days she would practice on both shoes, but most she would do one shoe with LOTS of help, and then be done.
I decided to be SUPER laid back with it, and not push it at all. I didn't want her toss in the towel. And today she insisted on doing it all by herself, and did! She was SO excited that she did the second shoe as well!
I am so proud of her! Tying laces is hard, and she gets frustrated easily when things are difficult. It really did take lots of deep breaths, but she never gave up. We talked about how when we really want something hard work and lots of patience go a long way. I think she is slowly starting to get that concept.
She was on cloud nine ALL DAY LONG. Her good behavior punch card got filled up so she got to choose a prize from the treasure box, plus it's Friday which means pizza and no homework. She was SO giddy about her "awesomest day ever!" when I went to pick her up from school. On our way home we hit up the library for some movies. She is currently sleeping in a fort in the living room.
I miss being five. The simple life.
