Healing

Kaylee just had her surgical followup appointment this morning. She is healing up nicely. Still freaks out when we ask to see her belly, but that’s to be expected for a while. She has not mentioned that it hurts for the last several days. So we are pleased that she is likely pain free, or close to it. It’s amazing how fast children heal. My Dad and little sister had the same hernia repair in the same spot and it took them over a month to start feeling better. My Dad just couldn’t believe that when he saw her less than 24 hrs post surgery she was up and playing with her cousins. I was shocked also. I suppose I figured (even though Doc said otherwise) after seeing Dad and Sam go through the same that she’d be out of commission for longer than a day. We are so very happy and blessed that she is recovering so VERY fast.

a little help please

We cannot decide which of these family photos to blow up for the living room wall. So I’d like some help please. Let me know if you like the first or second photo. I also put up the children’s individual photos that we picked. Jon picked the location and my sweet Dad took the photos. We got tons of great photos to choose from, but these are our favorites.

After seeing Regan get photos all by him self, Kaylee was only too happy to sit and smile. She is growing up so fast.

Also Mister Man is 6 months old today! CRAZY!

After

So happy that all went well in surgery. We got a “did you remember that you had a surgery” call at 6:45 a.m. So AWESOME that we forgot to set the alarm clock. Jon and Kaylee flew out the door. She was pretty excited to be woken up to go some where with her Daddy. She did wondered about me and Regan as I was buckling her into her seat. I let her know it was just her and Daddy and she happily waved bye to me as they pulled out of the garage. Kaylee was pretty lethargic most of the day. She had very few requests that we were happy to do. First she needed her promised otter pop. Then she needed to go on a walk. Then (after realizing that she was still in a diaper) she needed panties.

She got a fun tiger print gown to wear. Daddy (Jon) took some classic self portraits. As well as photos of all her tubes. Jon said she was too tired and sleepy to care about what was going on. She doesn’t normally wake up until 9 a.m. Then she got some good drugs from the anesthesiologist and just really didn’t care what was going on.

“Lucky” girl. Getting to eat an otter pop on the couch while watching some good ol’ PBS kids.

She fell asleep during our walk while holding her mail from her Great Grandma Sapp. She later discovered the treasures in her mail and had fun with her balloons. She even felt well enough (after a dose of Tylenol with codeine) to help Daddy answer phones at his makeshift home office – a.k.a the kitchen table. She was pretty much back to her normal self by bedtime. Thanks again for all the thoughts and prayers.
