a sad Kayleeism and some yard work

Saturday mid morning after getting back from the spring brake trip-

So Kaylee just had a really sad look on her face so Janice asked her what was wrong. She said “My heart is just so sad and I can’t make it all better. I just miss my friends soo much. I know my TV is soo much bigger and my house is bigger, but I just miss my friends and it makes my heart so sad.”

-Jon

Sad huh? So we decided to go and scrub all the bird poop off Pinto (the horse) and let her have fun getting good and wet. Pinto needed a REALLY good scrub down as he was coming inside. The sun here will just kill him. Kaylee was so happy when she found out we were bringing Pinto inside. Both the children are really enjoying him inside so much.

Being with Pinto always make her happy. We were just happy to see her smiling face again. After she was done cleaning Pinto we changed her out of her soggy clothes and she and Regan spent some time with the boys pulling weeds.

Regan tried really hard to use Uncle Josh’s new weed pulling thing.
Cousin Hunter came to help. (The yard was horrible.)

Kaylee job was to follow the boys with the wheel barrow and pick up the pulled weeds.

After getting cleaned up it was time to RIDE!

And ride they did.

Spring break

Shannon drove us all up to Utah for Spring break. It was AWESOME! We had SO much fun. The kids got in some great cousin/Grandparents/friend time in. Shannon was also able to score a great deal (decided to swing by Target) on a duel screen car dvd player right before we hopped on the freeway. So the girls in the back got a screen, and the boys got their own to look at. We had the kiddos take turns picking movies so there was no fighting over entertainment. It was such a quiet drive (for having 6 kiddos in a car for 8 hours).

Happy children in the van.

Grandma made yummy breakfasts (meals) for us.

Regan and Cassie fought over this toy phone. Luckily Grandma found another one. Regan kept “calling” his Papa, and having conversations. It was cute.

We went to story time at the library, and the children made these fun hats.

Then we went (Mom H. let me borrow a car) to St. George to visit all our Kreyling family. We started with a visit to my Grandma Kreyling. Regan and Kaylee had fun playing with her train.

They of course HAD to play Grandma Joanie’s piano.

As we were saying goodbye to Grandma, Kaylee said, “I will miss you lots, but don’t worry, I will see you soon.” It was so sweet.

We were able to visit Jamie, Linda, and the girls. It was short, but sweet.

After getting the back to my parents house and in jammies Regan decided to take a dive into the coffee table. The amount of blood was spectacular. My Dad knows me too too well and was right there with his camera before I could even ask. My Mom thought we were crazy, but I like to document the good, the bad, and the ugly. I was pleasantly surprised at how fast a split lip heals.

The next day we drove up to Cedar City to visit with the Owens’. It was SO nice to watch the children play and visit. Kaylee misses her friends so much. She was SUPER excited to see her Carter.

Carter did NOT want me to take his picture. haha. Guess my camera has been away from him for too long.

Grandma had a fun bubble set for each of the kiddos. They spent a fun filled afternoon blowing bubbles at each-other.

The Grandpaaaa with 6 of his 8 visiting grandchildren.

These 2 decided to sit a a calmer quieter dinner table.

Our last night of fun before heading back to Arizona. Grandma and Grandpa took us swimming! Regan didn’t stay a wallflower for too too long, but by the time he decided it was o.k. to play and have fun I had put my shiny new camera away (FAR away from water). I might need to pick up a water proof disposable camera for kicks sometime this summer….

Kaylee on the other hand had a blast!

She went down the kiddie slides too many time to count. I am excited to get her into swim lessons. She’s finally at that age of being able to have fun at the pool with out a parent hovering, so lessons are a must.

I loved that Kaylee wanted to hold hands with these two. She wants a sister BAD.

Shannon mid scolding me for, “…taking a picture of me now!?”
Why yes. Yes I am. And I will put it on my blog too. hehe. Good thing she loves me huh?

After getting the children down for the night we ladies got busy laying out (The picture above is NOT the layout we ended up using. it was just the first of may layouts.) what will be Mom’s EPIC family photo wall. I took a photo for reference (So we could get frames off the floor and away from little hands.) and we nailed all the frames up the next morning.

I had so much fun with these three. Even when they laugh at my excessive photo taking. 🙂

And we (mostly Shannon) did hair. Lots of do’s and cuts happened on this trip. It was just a great Spring break.

Phoenix Zoo

Shannon needed to go to the Zoo for her biology class. So she invited me and the children to tag along.
The children were very excited about our field trip. We split a season pass and are excited to go again with the oldest two who were for this trip in school.

I was SUPER pleased with how great Kaylee did. She only asked for confirmation that the animals couldn’t get her a couple of times. I think going to the zoo is going to really help ease her fear of animals.

Nathan was our map reader. Always checking his map and the big maps to make sure we were going the right way. It was too too cute. And Kaylee just did whatever he did.

Shannon took the older two up on a platform to overlook the giraffes while I stayed with the younger two. If it wasn’t CRAZY crowded on the platform the two younger would have gone up as well. They would have gotten trampled this time.

To keep them happy I pulled out the snacks. You can see how happy they were about it too. They both kept saying, “up!” 🙂 Next time they will hopefully be able to go up.

Kaylee has designated the foot rest as her seat. It works out great!

The orangutangs were my favorite of this trip. They were so fun.

Regan was VERY impressed buy the Orangutangs acrobatics.

Jon and I had our intake meeting with the adoption agency (LDS Family Services) later that afternoon. We’ve got loads of paperwork we’re now working on. It’s really exciting. Kaylee has decided she wants “Tres mas” (3 more) babies. And keeps asking us where they are. She was disappointed when we came back from the meeting without a baby.
