gone fishen’

Friday and Saturday afternoon we went up to Yankee Meadow to do some fishin’. Jon’s parents were camping up there for the weekend, but since it’s only 30 min from our house we decided to sleep in our own beds at night. It was such a perfect weekend. We caught lots of fish, and had SO much fun.

Kaylee was scared of the fish after hearing one gasp for breath. She had been SO excited about the whole thing. She was talking ALL week about how we were going to go fishen’ and then eat the fish.

Jon insisted that I hold up the fish (not a one was mine.). Regan thought the fish were cool.

Jon caught 5 fish our first night. 2 off my pole (to prove that my new pole wasn’t my issue).

Saturday we took the children out on the boat (first time ever) and had fun “fishen” with them. Regan lasted about an hour before declaring (by screaming bloodily murder) that he was done. Kaylee later went out with the boys for a couple hours, but sadly didn’t catch anything.

Thanks to Mom (who we failed to get a photo of) I was able to get tons of fishin’ time in without children trying to “help”, or throw themselves overboard. We also got to see Jon’s uncles (who the children and we love) when they came up to fish. I can’t wait to hit up the lake again and catch “the one that got away” (2 really, but who’s counting?).

Fathers and Sons

Last Friday and Saturday was our wards Fathers and Sons. It was Regan first time. His Papa came up for the occasion. They changed the location last minute so there was no boating/fishing. 🙁 And the boys only stayed for the evening then came home to sleep. Kaylee and I did pedicures to a girly movie while the boys where gone.

Jon says they will stay over night when Regan is older. Meanwhile this little boy sure had a blast at his first Fathers and Sons.

Papa spent 2 night with us and we got TONS of yard stuff done. Best Dad/Papa EVER. 7 am to 9 pm of grunt work on Saturday. Our yard is starting to take shape!

Daddy rides.

Some swinging with Papa.

He climbed up.

Then slid down. Lots.

Did plenty of running.

He had FUN!

April 15th

So my Mom thought it would be awesome to spend an ENTIRE day hiking Bryce and Zion (it was free fee week!) while my sister Jack’ee and her boyfriend Jason came to visit. It was both TONS of fun, and completely exhausting. I was shocked at how well the children did. 5:30 am – 9:30 pm (long long day). Photos in no particular order.

There was SO much snow on our way to Bryce.

Jason and Jack’ee started a snowball fight with Kaylee. She totally schooled them with her mad snowball fighting skills. Look at Jack’ee’s face!

Kaylee contrary to her facial expressions LOVED being carried in the carrier.

Our last hike ended at the entrance to the Subway. There were all these cool looking rock towers. Jack’ee Jason and Kaylee made some before we left.
