Anniversary and Adotion

SIX YEARS!!!!

Not gonna lie. We are pretty excited about this years anniversary. The children had a sleepover at the cousins house (so we could dinner/movie the night before), and then spent ALL day there playing while Jon and I went to our Adoption Academy.

It was an awesome experience, as well as being super informative. We had MANY questions answered, and gained a greater appreciation/respect/love for birth parents than we already had.

Needless to say we had a wonderful anniversary (Thanks SO much Day family), and are excited about the many adventures this next year will bring us.

A quick photo of us on our anniversary.

When we got home later that night we had family movie night. I took the following photos while we waited for Jon to go back to the Day’s and grab Kaylee’s forgotten meds. I don’t usually let the children get all crazy on beds, but I felt like this was a good way to keep them busy and get some fun pictures while we waited for Daddy.

Jon snapped this one of me and my babes when he got back. Tonight’s show was an episode of Tail Spin. We LOVE family movie/show time.

***Jack’ee do you SEE my roots (how can you not!), I am super excited to see you for a nice long visit, and to FIX my hair situation.***

Easter 2012

We had a nice quiet Easter Sunday. After the children woke up we headed to the living room for their surprise. Jon and I pulled the super lame-o parent card this Easter. I could only find the grass and not their baskets or eggs. I thought I was on top of it this year. I even had the candy ready to put into their eggs. But without the eggs or baskets we couldn’t do much. So since I didn’t realize until the night before when Jon asked me about it that I did not in fact know WHERE the baskets and eggs were, we had to make a late night run to the store. It was SLIM pickings. They had NO empty plastic eggs, OR empty baskets left. Pickings got even slimmer when we started reading all the labels for what was left. Darn food allergies. We ended up forking over more money for huge pre-done baskets.

Normally they get an empty basket lined with fake grass. They fill their baskets with plastic eggs filled with approved/safe sweets during the egg hunt.

Not too surprising the children were fine with what they saw in the morning.

The baskets did have fun things in them though….

The only thing I liked about this years eggs was our personal discovery of the confetti eggs. SO SO SO fun! I will be buying those every year that I remember.

The children were not sure what just happened. I had dumped the first egg on Regan to show them how it worked.

They caught on fast and had a blast with the confetti eggs. There other eggs were filled with stickers. Those were fun too.

After cleaning up all the confetti. We turned on some music and had a dance party.

Regan really likes Kaylee’s little guitar. And he was really getting into head banging while playing it.

Before going to church we watched the He is Risen video with the children to help explain the real purpose of Easter. Kaylee was fascinated. She has requested watching , “The Jesus movie.” several times since.

After church we headed over the the Day’s house. Shannon made an AMAZING Easter dinner. And the cousins taught the children the joys of egg wars. Kaylee was a bit worried about the eggs. She told me a few times, “But Mom, I allergic to eggs.” It took a bit to convince her that she would be fine as long as she didn’t eat them.

Becca won. She’s said this was normal. She wins every year. She’s too cute!

Regan didn’t wait for a battle. He just cracked his egg open on his own.

Sping Festival

Shannon got us tickets to the schools spring festival on Saturday. I was SO excited to see how Kaylee would do with the animals (since she’s afraid that they will eat her…). She was VERY excited about idea of a pony ride.

Regan wasn’t too thrilled when I let go to snap a quick photo.

Kaylee had mixed emotions about the ride, but did so much better than we had hoped for!

When they stopped I tried to get another one of Regan but he was DONE. He did enjoy it while I had a hand on him said, “yeehaw”.

Kaylee was SO excited about going into the pen for the petting zoo.

Until she was IN the pen.

One of the workers helped Regan navigate over to Jon and Kaylee after he was separated from them. I love his shirt. Makes me laugh.

We’ve been trying to gently help her get over her animal fears. She really has come a long way.

She said the goat was soft and nice. And was not upset that Daddy “helped” her pet an animal. She again surprised us with how well she did.

Aunt Shannon asking Kaylee which side she wanted her face paint done on.

Regan had not a clue what was going on. So I helped hold his head still.

I think he liked his UFO.

Our next big animal adventure will be the Zoo. Kaylee really wants to see the elephants, and ride the train.
