Building robots

Kaylee got this great little robot from her buddy Becca for her birthday. She was SO excited when Jon finally had time to help her read the instructions and build it. She used all her new tools. <3

She has named her robot Bobby the Brush Bot. They tricked him out with lights also.IMG_5187She cannot wait to build another robot. She’s drawing up blueprints now. 🙂 I just love that she loves this kind of stuff and has a Dad who can help her dive into it. Especially because her Mama is kinda useless in this department.

She and Jon are watching this chick on youtube teaching about circuit boards and stuff. It goes right over my head, but Kaylee is glued and in awe. 🙂

Kaylee is 7!

You know it’s gonna be a great day when you start with a dance party.  IMG_5023

And follow that up with your favorite breakfast of fresh blueberry pancakes and bacon.IMG_5029 IMG_5037 IMG_5040 IMG_5043 IMG_5051

Our little Squeeker is growing up into a beautiful little lady. This last year has been hard with making new friends as she watched all her old ones move on to a different grade, starting allergy shots, and becoming a foster sister.  Not to mention Speech and Occupation therapy. It’s been a big tough year for her and she grew and rolled with the punches like a champ. I am amazed everyday by her persistence and spunk. Her general happy attitude and zest for life is fabulous and awe inspiring.IMG_5057She loved that she and her Daddy were both wearing their soccer shirts.IMG_5058These two. I love them so.IMG_5059 IMG_5065She of course had to break in her new tool box and check out everything in it. I can’t wait to see what great things she makes out in her work space. She’s already drawing up plans. We are thinking about getting her a drafting table for Christmas. IMG_5067 IMG_5071Daddy took her outside for her birthday photos. She was so excited to wear her new dress. SO SO SO excited.IMG_5078 IMG_5081What happened to my baby? I mean she just grew up way too fast!IMG_5087 IMG_5102 IMG_5103She ended her day  watching her new Chipetts movie and having a living room picnic eating Chinese pancakes.

I can’t even wrap my mind around the fact that she is SEVEN. It’s just so sad that the past few years have flown. I just want to push pause on life.

Kaylee’s 7th birthday party

Kaylee wanted a science themed party. She loves math and science. "Mom we can just do some experiments and you don't even have to decorate!"

WHAT?!?! It's like she doesn't even know me.

I told her I loved the party theme, but that she would have to deal with decorations. I made a bunch of banners using periodic elements to spell everything out. She LOVED it!

Due to an unfortunate bee situation our front door was not accessible. Good times….. angry

And here we have the lab queen herself. She was killing me with her cuteness. She did her own "crazy busy science girl hair" by then end of the party it was a bigger hot mess. LOVED it!

IMG_4913 We had TANG because it's all sciencey and stuff. Astronaut drink and all. Plus it yummy. And some super yummy (guests said so) dairy/egg free chocolate cupcakes.

IMG_4916

And of course coke and mentos. I got baby coke bottles for each child. They all really like getting to do their own. Jon got some really fun footage on the GoPros.

This purple dress fro Yaiyai was two years in the making. Kaylee had very specific requests in her dream purple sparkly dress in that it needed to be pretty, sparkly, but still soft and not itchy. She was beyond thrilled.

She had fun popping balloons from her friends. "I'm so rich now!" Ha!

I tell her she has an elf ear. She has and ear that has an extra cartilage ridge that form a capitol E and it's a bit pointed at the top. She has taken to working on projects in the garage and has her own mini workshop. So we got her some proper sized tool and gear. She was SO happy to have tools that are real and fit her little hands.

Later that night after everything was cleaned up I got to hold my not so little anymore girl while relaxing on the couch. She passed out and I was near tears that it was my last time holding her as a six year old. I am such a big baby. For the past six months I've been telling her to just stop growing. Her response is always the same, "I can't stop. Just talk to Jesus about it."  Hard to argue with that huh?
