July 4th 2011

The last time we spent the 4th with the Kreyling’s (Jamie & Linda) was right after we were married. It’s been FAR too long and we were so happy when we found out that Linda and the girls were going to be in town (Jamie was in Hawaii) this year.

Linda took us swimming. She took Kaylee down the slide at least 10 time. Kaylee went down at least that many times with Jon and then several more solo (Jon of course caught her at the end) Then Linda fed us dinner.

Jadzia put a flower tatoo on Kaylee (she LOVED it). And this is Regan’s new camera pose. He yells, “EEEssss!” (cheese) and strikes this pose. Getting a picture of him just smiling is getting tricky.
Oh, and Sam isn’t taller than me. My head is just tilted. Just wanted to share that tidbit. And yes I am VERY white. Thanks for noticing. 😉

If you look closely you can see a plate of Linda made Cinnamon rolls. I ate like 10 by myself (there were LOTS and they were AWESOME). I think I need to start running like Jamie and Linda minus the marathons though………..

Hope your 4th was as wonderful as ours was.

gone fishen’

Friday and Saturday afternoon we went up to Yankee Meadow to do some fishin’. Jon’s parents were camping up there for the weekend, but since it’s only 30 min from our house we decided to sleep in our own beds at night. It was such a perfect weekend. We caught lots of fish, and had SO much fun.

Kaylee was scared of the fish after hearing one gasp for breath. She had been SO excited about the whole thing. She was talking ALL week about how we were going to go fishen’ and then eat the fish.

Jon insisted that I hold up the fish (not a one was mine.). Regan thought the fish were cool.

Jon caught 5 fish our first night. 2 off my pole (to prove that my new pole wasn’t my issue).

Saturday we took the children out on the boat (first time ever) and had fun “fishen” with them. Regan lasted about an hour before declaring (by screaming bloodily murder) that he was done. Kaylee later went out with the boys for a couple hours, but sadly didn’t catch anything.

Thanks to Mom (who we failed to get a photo of) I was able to get tons of fishin’ time in without children trying to “help”, or throw themselves overboard. We also got to see Jon’s uncles (who the children and we love) when they came up to fish. I can’t wait to hit up the lake again and catch “the one that got away” (2 really, but who’s counting?).

Antigravity

So last week Sam asked me to help her with her new place. Finish painting and decorating and stuff. So since she works 2 jobs it worked out best for her to come and get me and the children (we are a one car family and Jon needs the car for work so she picked us up and dropped us off) early Wednesday morning for a couple of days of house work.

Tuesday morning Jon told me that his parents were coming. I was way excited (normal response. I have AWESOME in-law’s), and then later on way bummed. They changed their plans and wouldn’t be coming in the day, but rather LATE that night. They were coming to help us finish the garden planting (like I said AWESOME). We stayed up late visiting with them. They were at our house ALL day Wednesday working (while Jon was at work and the children and I were gone to Sam’s). My garden has NEVER (photos coming soon) looked so good. Plus while Dad was in the garden Mom was in the house cleaning!

I know I am SO SO SO spoiled!!! Oh, and Kaylee got Grandma’s toy kitchen. Grandma thought she’d like it, and it would be better to use it than to keep it in their storage unit. So Kaylee has been “cooking” up a storm. And LOVES her kitchen. Ya, my Mother-in-law (and FIL) totally rocks!

Anyway….. Sam’ house.

When we arrived the children needed food, and we needed to make a few supply runs. Sam also had made plans with Shan’s (pronounced Sean/Shaun. he/it’s Irish…) siblings to go to Antigravity. So we met up with my Dad (who was there to take photos. we will have to make him play next time.) and Akasha, Patrick, and Conner and went crazy jumping on giant trampolines and bounce house stuff.

So Akasha is 17. She’s a young high school grad. She’s pretty freaking awesome. She’s currently bummed that she wasn’t able to deploy with her Dad and Brother (Army National Gard). She Worked SO hard to get all the paperwork singed and join up and all her basic training done only to be told that since she won’t be 18 until a week or so after they are to arrive in Afghanistan she couldn’t go.

I am sure you all already do, but please keep your thoughts and prayers with all our troops and their families. They need (and deserve) all our love and support.

We had SO much fun!

And then we all went and had frozen yogurt (not Regan. he got fruit snacks.), before becoming slaves to home improvement needs.
