Gilbert Temple open house

IMG_9820

After Kaylee's school party we came home and got ready to go to the Temple. We hit up a drive thru for dinner on our way out to Gilbert. The children thought the giant towel aprons so they wouldn't get their nice cloths dirty was histarical.

They tanked up and passed out. (post party sugar crash)

Walking from the parking lot to stand in the humungo line. It went fast for how LOOONG it was.

This little stud muffin of mine was being ridiculous. "Mom take my picture." And then it was pose, pose pose. He's is awesome.

Melts my heart every time. Big gooey mess. Love them!

Miss sassy pants herself walked a runway most of the way back to the cars. I should have grabbed a video….

And then our little buddy "tripped down". So sad. I watched the whole thing from the back of our group. Jon was closer, but not close enough to prevent the fall. And since the camera was already attached to me……

Regan wanted to see his sad pictures right away. This little face was the opposite of our lovely Temple tour. I wish I could have gotten a photo of their sweet little faces as they looked at everything, The joy, peace, and awe on their faces was really the best part. They knew exactly where they were, and were so happy to be there.

flower bed and tree stumps

This is what we started with. Some plants that were far to large for the flower bed, and a couple of large stumps. Although you cannot really see them in this photo the stumps are large and ugly.

houseI spent most of Friday gutting the flower bed. LOTS of weeds and plants needed to be removed.  And grass. We extended the bed. The old one ended were the little picket fence started, and there was a shrub planted in the grass. Such a pain to mow and edge. IMG_9610Saturday we went to the Home Depot TWICE! Four full carts people. FOUR! The first trip was without the children, the second time wel took the children and let them go nuts picking out some annuals.  IMG_9611We filled every nook and cranny of the van with flowers. It smelled SO good. IMG_9613 IMG_9615

The yard turned into a hot mess for a few days. IMG_9649

IMG_20140210_194128_574Jon and Josh worked well past sunset using the rented stump grinder to grind out the stumps.  IMG_9669Kaylee helped me take all the yummy smelling pine mulch and put it in the flower bed. I told her it smelled like Christmas. Poor kid have never had a real pine tree, and was baffled by my statement.IMG_9682 IMG_9683 IMG_9669This is the finished flower bed. We extended it out to the drive way, and made it several inches deeper. I also laid the old flower bed boarder on its side and made it level with the grass so I can mow right over it. No more edging!IMG_9672"Hey! I used to stand here!"

IMG_9673

We have SO much pine mulch just waiting to be used. PROJECTS!

Jon: Hey, do you want a pot?

Me: For that awkward porch corner? YES! (It only took me 30+  min to pick one.)

It is so nice walking out the door and being greeted with this lovely sight.

VCUG take two

Kaylee had a SUPER early morning. And she is NOT an early morning person. We left the house just after 6 am and headed to the Children's hospital for her VCUG imaging test.

IMG_8865

I had the gal who checked us in at imaging snap a quick photo of us. I let Kaylee put lipstick on last night. it stained her face. She had pink smeer all day.

IMG_8867

They hand out coloring pages and crayons to the children to keep them entertained while they wait.

The nurse and social worker (child advocate) were dying over her little photo shoot. They said it was the best thing ever watching her strike her poses and giggle over the breeze on her backside.

IMG_8875

She did amazing. She only yelled "OUCH" when they put in the catheter (expected and understandable), but otherwise was happy to chat away and play on the ipad. Kaylee actually used the bed pan this time so they were able to get good imaging. It looks as though the duflux procedure didn't take at all. Frustrating.

IMG_8877

Her comfort toy for this visit was her new Twilight Sparkle. She told her advocate ALL about My Little Pony. The advocates give the children a toy after procedures/test/imaging and she found Kaylee a new Twilight Sparkle. Kaylee was VERY pleased.

Two hours later we were done. And we were both tired all day from our abnormally early morning. We meet with her urologist next Friday. Hopefully he will have something new to share with us.
