Halloween 2015

This years costume theme. Brought to you by Kaylee ‘s OT recommending Where’s Waldo books to help with her visual perception issues. So the kids got WAY into the books and decided that we should go as Waldo and the gang for Halloween.

They demanded a mini photo shoot before their costumes were complete.

Halloween day we had our ward party. SO fun. They had tons of fun games and a trunk or treat at the end.

Our sister missionaries are just so awesome!

We got our doorway all set up for our neighborhood treaters and then took off to Aunt Cindy’s for family fun.

Regan demanded a turn “serving the customers.”

Jon playing Where’s Waldo. He got found a lot. Also it was very clear that most people have no clue that there are other characters. We all got called Waldo. Also Kaylee was labeled a cute boy by all and didn’t love that. She regretted calling dibs on The Wizard, beards are itchy! Such a great night visiting with family and the kids had a blast!

Pumpkin carving 2015

It’s been so hot here that I held off on carving the pumpkin until the day of. The kids did not appreciate waiting. I got everything all set out and ready to go and then made them wait even more while Jon helped me glue my hand. Emptying the dishwasher……. It’s perilous. Also I’m the reason we are a plastic dishes house. Jon has his pyrex bake wear, but everything else is stainless steal or plastic.

They were pretty darn excited when it was FINALLY time.

Regan, “EWWW! Pumpkins are SO disgusting.” He ran off to his room and waited until the gross gutting was done.

Kaylee was just the opposite. She got all up in there and was ripping all the seeds out.

I had them draw what they wanted and carve it mostly solo. Kaylee’s side was vampire guts… Regan did a more traditional scary face.

Then Kaylee decided to be “that” sibling and gross her brother out. All in all a win for pumpkin carving this year.

Regan’s 5th Birthday Party

He wanted a Halloween theme for his party this year. I was pretty excited because the house was already half decorated, and it was a nice excuse to buy more Halloween decorations. I have Hotel Transylvania on during the party. And party guest were encouraged to dress up.

Red velvet cupcakes because, "they will look like blood Mom." Yummy. He wanted a "creepy pumpkin" for his pinata.

A little pin the nose on the skeleton. Kaylee had fun spinning everyone for the game. A bit of musical napkin square fun. Regan had a meltdown whe he lost at musical squares. Because in his world the point of playing is to win. And loosing sucks. Getting him to be a good sport when he doesn't win has been a work in progress for years. Years. To be fair he is getting better about.

We missed Jake's birthday so we made him blow out candles too. I still remember Jake's 30th party. SO many contractions. My two OB's were there and made me go to labor and delivery. Guess I was looking pretty rough. Jake was hopping Regan would be born on his birthday, but no such luck. He made his grand entrance into the world a few days later.

I love watching Regan open gifts. He is so grateful and animated.

And Regan enjoying his chosen breakfast the next morning (his Birthday) of homemade pancakes and peach sauce. It's hard to believe my little buddy if FIVE! He is one awesome kiddo and we are so very blessed that he is ours.
