PSMAPP done!

Tonight we wrapped up our ten week course for our foster license. SOOOOOOOOoooooooooooo happy to be done with that beast. Good grief. If you have done it then you know. IF you have done it I give you high fives and hugs for enduring to the end.

That is not to say that the course wasn't full of good and needful things. It was. But it was agony for my introvert self. Plus I felt like each Tuesday night the three hour class could have been easily done in an hour and a half.

BUT you have to have so many hours of training so… But is it done, and we learned a TON. Which I love. Because learning is awesome.

IMG_5383  We were THRILLED to get this piece of paper. I kinda felt like in needed a cap and gown thing happening, but it's fine. 😉

IMG_5391Also on the way to class I discovered my first grey hair. I'm not gonna lie. I was surpassingly excited about it. So much so that I insisted on Jon taking a picture. He was rolling his eyes at his crazy wife, but took pictures anyway. He's cool like that, and loves me despite my strangeness.

HUMUNGO thanks a million to Dwayne, Shannon, Jodi, and Scott for taking turns taking GREAT care of our children while we PSMAPPed!

More paperwork (Foster care/Foster to Adopt)

It’s our new mantra. Helps me power through the hand cramps.  I honestly find it all excessive. Why can’t we just make copies of our private home study and paperwork? And back round checks? (We’ve been told we might with some forms, so that would be nice.) BUT we know it will be worth it so we power through. And are EXCITED!

IMG_8248I decided to put my crazy pants on and fill out our stack of foster paper work, some new forms that needed signing from our agency, AND Kaylee kindergarten intake packet (not shown) in the same evening.

I signed my name and dated it over 40 times! Never mind filling in the info they needed.  Sheesh!

Me: Sign here. And here, And here, and……

Jon: Geeze.

Me: Dude. Don’t even complain. (To be fair he was writing code for the van fund job so…)

Jon and I were surprised that the foster intake had a whole form on race, gender, and ethnicity. To each their own and whatnot and yea for people fostering children, but really? Baffled. Well not so much with gender I guess….

Our only thing was age. We would prefer the children we foster be the same age or younger than the children. We don’t think it would be comfortable or appropriate for a teenager to share a room with a toddler/young child. SO as the children grow so will our age range.

However we are signed up for sibling groups so we will see as situations are presented.

Did I mention we are EXCITED?!

I expect a call to set a meeting with the foster agency sometime towards the end of next week! Where we will go and get MORE paperwork to fill out. Hahaha!

Seriously though we are SO EXCITED! 🙂
