A fun family tradition. After dinner of yummy Navajo tacos. We read a story about the symbols of Christmas. Jon narrated this year. And then we all take turns picking a favorite Christmas song and sing. My Dad was funny conducting us while we sang. My cousin Stephanie got a video that she put on her Facebook. It’s pretty funny.
Kaylee loves to sing, but since my family really isn’t the best at singing it took her a bit to realize what we were doing and to join in. She also started conducting the “music” with her Papa. She was sitting on Linda’s lap, and Linda was trying to sing and not laugh when Kaylee finally decided to join in.
Kaylee got to open her present box from Jamie, Linda, & the girls after we were done singing. She needed the girls to show her what to do. It was good practice with a couple of pros. She did great Christmas morning after her practice with the girls. Jamie & Linda a seriously professionals at spoiling us. They gave Kaylee the most awesome Leap Frog learn to read book pad. And a bunch of books to go with it. Plus some really great sight word books. Not to mention a couple of bags of hand me downs. Hand me downs are the BEST! Regan also got a super cute outfit from them that I can’t wait for him to wear.
The kids in their Christmas jammies. I think in a few months we are going to have to try and get Kaylee to give kisses on Regan’s cheeks and not his lips. HaHa! It’s a good thing they are still so young and innocent. She really loves to give Regan kisses and hugs.
Sam took these photos of us. I love them. The one with Jon and Kaylee is funny as Sam took it while Kaylee was saying a prayer. Kaylee herd the camera and so looked up said, “cheese!” and then finished up her prayer. We gave Sam a hard time about taking a picture during a prayer.
We had to quickly open stocking before heading over to Jamie & Linda’s for Christmas breakfast.
Breakfast was at 10:00 am, but as we are not morning people we were late and only had time to open stockings before rushing out the door.
Regan does not like the car seat unless it’s moving. So he wasn’t too happy sitting in his seat waiting for all his slow family to get out the door into the cars and off to eat. Breakfast by the way to make you all so super jealous is (every year): eggs, bacon, spam (for the odd ones), and scones with honey butter. Can you say YUM – O!
We let Kaylee open all of Regan’s presents. Sam helped. Kaylee had a blast.
Our cheese ball. It’s so hard to catch her natural smile as she like to yell, “cheese!” for the camera. She will give you an awesome really cute real smile after the flash goes off. Hope she grows out of that. I’d like to someday soon get her real smile without strategic planning.
I think she had a psychic vision of what was in this one. She was very possesive even before she tore at the paper and saw what was inside.
She had more gifts that Sam opened for her as she was off getting her baby out of the packaging with Barry. She LOVES her new baby. I knew she was getting a similar baby from Abuela Cristina so she left this one from Yaya at Yaya’s house. She gave her baby squishes and kisses goodbye as we left my parents house.
I love how super white Regan looks when my Mom holds him.
Saturday morning we stopped by the Hurricane park to meet up with Jon’s old high school buddies. It was lots of fun seeing them. I met E.R. for the very first time, but we forgot to get a picture before E.R. and his girlfriend left. We also missed Heather. She was spending time with her sister. This was Jon’s first time at a park with Kaylee wanting to play. He was so funny hovering over her to make sure she didn’t get hurt. He insisted that I wait at the bottom of the slide to catch her. I stood at the bottom and watched her come to a slow stop and then get herself down. He relaxed after that. I guess we need to take Jon to the park more.
This is the baby she opened at home from her Abuela when we got home Saturday night. She also got a cradle from me and Jon, and a baby pillow from Grandma Sapp. Both kids “cleaned up” this year. We want to thank everyone who helped to spoil our babies. And say thanks to everyone for the fun memories.
