Reganism

We had just finished pre-school, and the children were still working on their letter art project for the day. So I decided to put on some tunes while I cleaned the kitchen. I had just the other day found my box in the attic that had my CD’s in it. So I decided to pop in some Il Devo. Kaylee and I enjoyed listening to it in Utah, but it’s been about a year. I am pretty sure Regan doen’t remember it from Utah anyway, so it was brand new to him.
He LOVES LOVES LOVES it! Oh, my goodness. It was so funny/awesome how fast he RAN into the kitchen to start opera singing and gesturing. Kid has NEVER seen opera before, but that didn’t stop him from knowing and doing all the right moves.
Kaykee joined him when she herd the camera going, and then his facial expressions really  intensified!

Moments like this make me so happy that I am a nut and keep my camera out and near by. Who knows maybe someday he will be a famouse opera singer…

Papusas and Super Heroes

The weekend of Jack’ee’s shower we were SO lucky to have my Abuela travel down from Utah with my parents, brother, Aunt, and cousins. LUCKY. She taught me and Jack’ee how to make papusas. You know since she is “…dying and will never see you again to teach you.”

We are fairly certain Kaylee gets some (if not all) of her drama queeness (it’s a word. promise.) from her Abuela. We are also certain that Abeula is going to out live us all.  But we are all still so grateful that Aunt Maggie and Abuela out voted my Mom’s, “It’s too much work.” And spent the many hours teaching me and Jack’ee how to make AWESOMENESS.

Also Barry brought his childhood cape (He wore his “SuperMan” all the time whe he was Regan’s age.) to get some sweet photos of him and the children “flying.”  I would e-mail him photos while he was serving his mission, and he LOVED the ones of Regan wearing a cape, and was super excited to get photos with him. Kaylee of course couldn’t be left out. So she donned her cape as well.

Enjoy the random photos. I was cooking, and taking photos of everything allatthesametime. Didn’t want to miss a moment. It involved LOTS of extra hand washing, but was worth it.

When my Dad woke up from his nap. He took over the pictures. He’s cool like that.

Kaylee much to the DELIGHT of Abuela took off her cape and put on her apron to cook with us. She did amazing. She made two (with help) mini papusas.

Those not cooking or flying where well, flying. Jon set up his flight simulator up on the T.V. for all to play while awaiting awesome, delish, glorious food.

Kaylee’s first finished papusa. Ready to put on the grill.

It’s so little and cute. Much like little miss herself.

She happily ate the two she made then announced that she needed me to make her a big one. Her’s were more like appetizers.

The children fought over Abuela’s hat. They thought it was so cool.

Kaylee won.

A big HUGE thank you to Shannon for letting us last minute borrow her electric skillet. It was SLOW cooking with just one.

Abuela’s visit

I so wish I would have been seconds faster with my camera when my family arrived. Regan about knocked Abuela over when she walked into our house. She LOVED it. She and the children where just SO excited to see each other.

But alas, I missed the cuteness of their reunion. BUT I did get some gubber craptastic photos of the three of them loving on each other late one night.

Please disregard the state of the children’s undress. Hot summer night right before bed = half naked kiddos.

LOVE.
