32nd birthday

Since we were unexpectedly in Utah for my birthday I got to go and have a visit with my sweet Grandma. Jon and Regan were at the hospital with Jon’s Dad having just the boys time. So we got to have some fun shopping and visiting for just the girls time. Woot!

Part of shopping was getting me a birthday flan. Do you like my super annoyed mom face? Ya. My little buddy was having a melt down because, 1) He didn’t get to make me a cake, and 2) the cake I picked was full of dairy and eggs. Not kid friendly. This was strictly a grown up dessert. We did buy dessert for the kids and Jon (he doesn’t do flan). IMG_0400

And here we have a fake smile, because I had Regan melting down off camera. It was a happy sad day/birthday. Lots of fake smiling.IMG_0401

Kaylee was being hysterical. She was super happy to be singing to me.IMG_0404 IMG_0409He was truly devastated. My birthday flan was a last straw emotionally for him. Too many big feelings happening too close together. He misses our foster kids, Grandpa is in the hospital, he had to miss his first ever school field trip, and one of his favorite school friends birthday party all on the same weekend. So ya, my birthday flan broke him.

Nathan baptism and family birthday parties

Sweet Nathan got baptized and all the local cousins got to celebrate his special day with him. I love these silly people and their amazing grandparents.

Our local clan is hopefully just going to keep growing. I love having so many nieces and nephews nearby to love on as much as our crazy busy lives allow.

Nathan wanted king piggy for his 8th pinata. So king piggy he got.

Sara (my birthday buddy) decided to throw down a challenge on my pinata skills. I love this girl and am only slightly scared for what next years request will be. 😉  Pretty much a perfect Saturday. Baptism, all the kiddos, and 2 birthdays celebrated.

Last day with five

Kaylee and Regan had our last Friday with the kids off school. So Jon took the day off and we had one last day of fun as a family of seven.

Jon had been wanting to bike the kids over to the foot bridge for the last year. We thought it would make for a fun last adventure. Jon had three kids on his bike and I had two. I was SO excited about this bike ride. We used to pop Kaylee and Regan on our bike and zip around often before our placement. It was a bit trickier to load five onto two bike. We had to wait until Monkey girl was big enough, and buy a trailer.DSC00847

The kiddos thought that the foot bridge was pretty awesome. We stayed and watched cars drive under us for quite some time. Mostly because I felt like I was dying and needed to recover. I am SO SO SO out of shape! I haven’t really done any cardio in the last year….. DSC00849

My whole body was shaking by the time we got to the bridge. I’m planing on getting back to being fit. I want to be able to bike my kiddos places and not need hours to recover after. DSC00855

Halfway home I had to just get down and walk. My legs were shaking so bad I couldn’t peddle anymore. The girls hopped off the bikes to walk and Jon got this sweet picture of them. Apparently being walked while sitting on a bike is just not as fun.DSC00857

The boys stayed in the trailer the whole ride home. The three big kids did lots of seat swapping between bikes and places to ride. I did like getting to chat with each of them when they were on my bike. That was nice.DSC00858“Let’s go on a bike ride to the foot bridge. It will be fun.” Lies! Mostly because we didn’t realize just how out of shape I am. Things to work on.

Also we are going to miss these kiddos so freaking much! Saying goodbye was really hard. 🙁
