Sleepover 7.17

 We watched a Scooby-Do movie.

I like to teach them young to be photoholics….. “Aunt Janice, Say CHEESE!”

Regan didn’t want to sleep in all that chaos. He cried for his bed. So it was just the five of them in the fort.

Rebekah: Is this how it’s going to be every sleepover?

Me: Ya. Probably.

Rebekah: I could get used to this. (Big smile on her face.)

We did some crafts the next morning, but I didn’t get any photos…. Lame. Huh?

hijacking a porter potty

Monday we took the children to the Zoo.
This visit the stroller was more for carting our supplies than children.
We did it all this visit. I especially enjoyed the reptile house.
So did Regan. Kid was fascinated.
The children oohed and ahhed at the condors. Those guys are massive.
Picnic lunch. Before ridding the zoo “train.”
On the train I had this nice couple take a few pictures of our first zoo train ride.
My camera scared them. 🙂
But it’s o.k. Any picture is better than no picture. Right?
Off to Sting Ray Bay.
Kaylee is doing amazing these last few weeks overcoming her fear of all living things.
She willingly and happily stuck her hand in the water to pet the sting rays. One even splashed us. Scared me, but Kaylee just laughed.
Regan got a bit wet in some unfortunate places at the bay. Ended up looking like some MAJOR pit sweat was happening.
To the carrousel. As you can see Regan was not pleased AT ALL to be on the carrousel.
It was such a super SHORT ride. The kids were all bummed out about how fast it went.

This is how Regan made it through the ride. He was the only one happy to get off the thing.
“Hey Cassie look at me for a picture.”
HAHAHA! She did have fun. Promise.
Then we hit up one of the splash pads to cool off.
They all had snacks for the drive home. They all had fun, and were worn out. And they needed to pee half way home. Poor Cassie was in tears. And when one says they need to go all suddenly realize that they need to goo too. In our desperation to find her (Cassie) a toilet we stumbled upon a porter potty. Shannon asked if we should use it. I said I would and that desperate times called for desperate measures.
Behold the hijacked potty. Where Cassie refused to go (held it until she got home), but Kaylee, and Nathan happily went. When I got back to the car after taking Kaylee, Rebekah was telling me ALL about the construction workers that drove by, and asking if we were going to get into trouble.  I told her they wouldn’t get mad a tiny children with overfull bladders.

Good times people. Good times. And thank Heaven for hand sanitizer!

cousins

We’ve been enjoying TONS of extra cousin time the last few weeks while Shannon took a math class. It was actually perfect. The copusin’s would get dropped off before 9 and my two would have awesome entertainment until noon. Then Regan would go down for a nap after lunch, Kaylee would watch a movie, and I would really only have to bee an active Mom for twoish hours (after nap) before the boys would come home and send me off to bed.
I got sent to bed lots while recovering from the pneumonia. LOTS. I was actually quiet pathetic.
This last week I finally had enough energy to do more than lay on the couch and randomly yell (to be herd above the fun) at the children to play nice and share. Randomly as in just prevention. This last week we actually DID stuff. I pulled out leftover craft supplies from our Heaton reunion last summer. These four hardly left the table for our last two cousin days. I am planning on buying more craft day supplies. I forgot how much fun doing kid crafts are.
