Christmas Eve 2012

Jack’ee and Jason came over for Christmas Eve. We ate lasagna, opened a couple of gifts, and read “Teach the Children.”
Jon had Jack’ee for my sides gift exchange this year. He got her a gift card to a favorite store. She loved it.

Jack’ee and Jason got the kiddos new socks (per my request.). I have been informed that socks are not a cool Aunt and Uncle gift to give. So they also got the children “FUN” gifts too.
We did miss Aunt Linda’s Christmas Eve party. LOTS. But our evening was still special and nice. I think I am going to have to learn how to make Linda’s Navajo tacos and scones though…

Ward Christmas party

Saturday the 1st was our ward Christmas party. The theme was an evening in Bethlehem. We were encouraged to dress up. The children and I did. Jon, not so much… But we all had fun.

Kaylee practicing mooing for her part in the Nativity.

She was SO excited all week long about getting to be a cow.

Regan enjoyed not having to share a hymn book with Kaylee since she was on stage.

Kaylee and her bestie Noelle.

We really did have SO much fun!

Christmas 2010

So our original plan was to celebrate Christmas in AZ, but life happens and plans change.

My Dad called a couple of weeks before Christmas to let us know that He and Mom were no longer going to come down for Christmas. My Grandpa’s health took a turn for the worse and they wanted to spend as much time with him as possible.

So my sweet hubby said we could go to Utah for Christmas so I could say goodbye to my Grandpa.

It was nice being in St. George for Christmas and getting to do all our old traditions.

Christmas morning we got to Skype with Barry before opening gifts. It was great to see/hear him.

My parents children do a name drawing and exchange gifts from that. (Helps keep costs down.)
The last few years I’ve got Sam. She cracks us up. “I care enough to cheat to have Janice get me.” I love it! She always tell me EXACTLY what she’d like me to make her. I just have to sit and make. SO easy, and she always LOVES it. This year she wanted a funky tutu. I SO want to make myself one now.

We were not sure if Barry’s call would allow us to go to church or not (staring time and length of call stuff), so I got myself and the kiddos dressed up just in case. And I am so happy I did! My Mom found theese little “Future Missonary” tags for the children. So Regan was sporting his tags and dress clothes WITH his new backpack. So cute!

Kaylee made out like a bandit with all things girly.

Me and Sam.

Kaylee with Grandma Joanie.

Regan with Grandma. I am going to send her these photos.

Princess Kaylee smooching her Papa.

Regan was a bit scared of Grandpa Kreyling this visit. (Lots of Machines and stuff.) So this was the best photo of these two that I got. Good thing I have some WAY cute ones of Regan with his Great Grandpa Kreyling.

Kaylee on the other hand was the opposite. She was a bit timid at first, but that didn’t last long. Then she was talking and laughing with him. And telling us how silly he was whenever he would nod off.

Probably my favorite picture of our trip. She just kept smiling at him. And he just lit up when the children came in the room. I am happy that she was so comfortable with him, and that he was somewhat lucid for our visit.

Grandpa didn’t want us to leave, but we had to. It made for an extra sad goodbye. Love this man to pieces!

Christmas evening we to see Jon’s parents (In their new house where we spent the night). They spoiled us as they usually do. It was great being able to visit with them.

They had cute tree ornaments for the children.

With a money surprise inside.

It took a bit, but Jon and I got their money out.

Mom set the children up with their first Christmas claymation movie.

Grandpa joined them. I LOVE how Kaylee and Grandpa are making the same face and oblivious to my picture taking.

Regan looked super cute in Grandpa’s glasses.

The next morning we sent the children out to play while Jon helped Dad out with a few things.

And play they did. And chat Mom and I did. 🙂

“King” Regan helping Daddy with the sprinklers.

Then crashed HARD after all the work. The chair to car transfer went better than anticipated and he napped on.

That night (day after Christmas) when we got home I made Jon open his presents.

My tummy is SUPER excited about his new moose making gear, my hips not so much….

Jon’s Aunt and Uncle got us a way cute sign. That Kaylee opened for us. We told her everything else needed to wait until the next night when Daddy got home from work. Also Regan was out for the night and missed out, so we wanted to do the rest as a family.

We let them open our family gift before Jon left for work the next morning. They were you know just a tad excited about it. 🙂

So 2 days after Christmas we got around to open our few remaining gifts, and stockings.

The next day during Regan’s nap I let Kaylee crack open her makeup (Santa is so nice. My makeup is now safeish…).

Then just 2 weekends ago we made it out to Jack’ee and Jason’s house to give them their from Utah gifts, and have the children open up the gifts from Jack’ee and Jason.

I was amused that the children beelined to the dog bed to sit.

Jack’ee or Jason had Jon this year. Don’t remember who…. Anyway Jack’ee asked what she should get him. So I told her he’s been wanted glass baking cups so he can make molten lava cakes. He was pretty excited.

Jason was so cute. He said he was standing in line on black Friday and just stared picking stuff out for the children. He totally spoiled them. They LOVE their new etch-a-sketches and mini learning laptops.

Regan and Jason tossed his new/first football around for a bit.

Then the children spent time trying to figure out Kaylee’s laptop.

Before leaving we headed outside to see Jack’ee and Jason’s new toys in action.

So Christmas this year got drug out over a few weeks. I really liked it. Helped that Christmas feeling last a bit longer.
