It’s his age in binary and mega blocks.  It’s awesome!

I sent Regan with a Regan friendly ice cream cone so he could have dessert too. He really enjoys his “ice cream.”

I made Josh a Protos (Star Craft) shirt. It was a huge step up from last years gift of mechanical pencils for school.

Emily got him this sweet vintage print of Star Trek ships. Swoon.

Regan’s PaRtY!

This is Party day.
This picture of Regan sums up nicely how excited he was and how much fun he had at his party.
We did a Toy story theme this year. Regan was briefly Mr. Potato head.
Little Green men cupcakes.
He was also briefly Woody.
I think everyone had fun.
So I didn’t realize until downloading pictures that we didn’t get any pictures of all the other decorations. Bums me out. I found these really neat Andy’s drawing recreations that we printed and hung up. I have them hanging up in Regan’s bed nook. Maybe I’ll get a picture of them there….
Anyway we had a banner, streamers, and TONS of balloons.
We played pin the badge on Woody, and get the snake in the boot. Here I am explaining that they would each get three tosses.
First little guy got it in on his first toss. I panicked at that point as I had promised prizes to all who got the snake in the boot. I thought I was going to run out of prizes… He ended up being the only one to get it in.
Regan was THRILLED to wear his hat and blow out his number three candle.
“Regan, say cheese!”
He did NOT want to stop playing to open presents. Uncle Josh had to get Regan’s little bear to comfort him as he was forced inside.
He got over the trauma of it all quickly. And enjoyed opening (Watching Josh and then Jon) gifts.
He finally got his super cape. He LOVES it. He HAS to wear a cape when watching Super Why.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this one Jodi made for him. I LOVE that he has two. Meaning one to play with and one for back up when the played with one is in the wash. He has been enjoying both capes.
We got him Toy Story 3. He’s more excited about it than he looks.
He loved smashing his Emperor Zurg piñata. LOVED.

I reenforced the top, but the loop didn’t hold up to the pounding and Jon ended up holding Zurg by the horns and trying not to get hit.
It was a fun party and we really appreciate everyone who was able to come and celebrate our little man with us.
***I got all the cute ideas from people on pinterest. I just searched “Toy Story party.”

I normally don’t really care much about getting older. This year though I found myself feeling sad. It took me a while to figure out why. For some silly reason I had always planned on having all my kids by the time I turned 30. I thought for sure I would have at least four children.
Well that’s not going to happen. Plans change. I am 29 years old and not even certified to adopt. Never mind having a birth mom pick us for her child. And that’s o.k.
I have decided that even though it makes me sad that growing my family is not as easy as I would like it to be, I am going to just be happy.
I am so ridiculously blessed. Not only do I have the privilege of being a Mother, I get to experience the joys of raising a girl AND a boy.
So I am going to try to wonder a bit less about my mystery children and just thoroughly soak up the experience of being a Mom to two.  And if I am not meant to Mother more than two I will still count my self doubly blessed.
These two are my biggest joys.  Just look at Kaylee’s litter cheekers!  I am surrounded by cuteness.
Jon totally surprised me. I decided to go to the library with Kaylee while Jon cooked dinner. I came home to a decorated house! VERY unexpected, but SO fun. I had a great day home with my kiddos, and then a lovely night hanging out with my little family.
