Last day of school 2017

Ronon was over being strapped in the stroller (slows him down slightly) at the start of year end parties. It was a LOOOOOOONG hour. This was a very successful year for Kaylee and Regan. Regan was invited from testing scores last year to be in the more advanced class this year. He thrived. Kaylee graduated out of Speech and OT and her IEP moved to a 504 and she was able to maintain grades! Having dyslexia, dysgraphia, low hand tone, ADD, and some speech stuff has made school a lot of extra work for Kaylee. Good thing she’s naturally persistent! They are keeping her on the close watch list to bump her back up to an IEP if needed. We’ll see. School is only going to get more intense and if she needs the extra assist she’ll get it.

We loved Mrs. R for Kaylee. Kaylee with her much younger school best friend. This is why I call Kaylee my shrimpyMcshorty. Mrs. A was great at challenging Regan this year in APEX.

Aunt Myra’s first visit

I had been inviting Aunt Myra over lots and lots. I know how painful being a middle Mom is and

just wanted to keep inviting her. Knowing kids are safe and loved goes a long way but missing

them is painful. I knew when she was ready to see baby in his new space she’d come. This little guy was SO happy to see her! And we enjoyed getting to know her more. He was tucked out after playing hard and having an exiting visit. I let Myra know she could take all the time she needed. Loss is hard to process. As is guilt. Both are prevalent emotions for Middle Moms. Emotions I know far too well. We hope to see lots more of her and her kiddos when she’s ready.

Regan 1st grade Mini Market Day

At the end of their money unit the first graders get to do a Mini Market where they got to run their own business and buy and sale. They earned “money” over the school quarter to spend on market day. Each child made their own business plan/name and store poster. Regan chose to make paper air planes to sale and he bought LOTS of goodies from other children Jon was his parent helper. I did Kaylee’s while wrangling Ronon so I tagged him in for Regan’s year. Regan worked hard on the project and has a much greater understanding of cost/value of things we buy.

His starting money and money box. He had a blast and learned lots. Jon said is was SO loud. Glad I missed that part.
