an Ikea valentine

After our breakfast guest went home we got ready for our Ikea adventure. Kaylee didn't have school today (teacher in service day) so we got to do some far away shopping.

Aimee (Aunt Emily's sis) made these AWESOME tie dyed clothes for the children I was so excited for Kaylee to wear her hearts tie dye on Valentines day! She LOVED it.

My hot lunch date. Kaylee: "Dont' forget my vegetable Mom!" And Regan NEEDED his smoothie. Love those two veggie lovers of mine.

We were at Ikea for over two hours! They insisted on checking everything out. They literally laid on every bed, and sat on every sittable item, Regan found a lost/abandoned tape measure and NEEDED to measure everything to make sure it would fit. (Fit where it already was on display.)

A random lady walking past us stopped to comment on Kaylee's hair and how much she loved it. Her husband then commented (to tease his wife) how much he liked Regan's hair do. She pointed out Kaylee's hearts. He agreed that the hearts were neat.

Jon ordered pizza that we picked up on our way home. Regan after dinner (sauce face!) came to me and asked me to make his hair pretty for valentines day. He had a piece of heart ribbon to tie in his hair. He and Kaylee were dying with giggle fits over Regan's pretty hair. He just couldn't be left out of the festive hair do's!

Oh man! Kids are the best!

Valentines breakfast

I used to SO good at keeping the freezer stocked with pancakes. And then one day we ere out and I didn't feel like making a batch. FYI I make mine from scratch (food allergies…) so it's more involved that just adding water. Nothing is more motivating that a guilt ridden Mama (Regan had asked for months, and then finally gave up.), a fun holiday, and a morning house guest to put some pancakes in the freezer. I made a batch of pink and purple for the kids to eat, and then whipped out 7 dozen more for the freezer. Regan was SOOOOO happy.

I pulled out some holiday colored plates. And let them have a purple pancake picnic.

We watched Charlie Brown's valentine movie. Kaylee found the adults voices very amusing.

Fun and productive way to start my day.

Gilbert Temple open house

After Kaylee's school party we came home and got ready to go to the Temple. We hit up a drive thru for dinner on our way out to Gilbert. The children thought the giant towel aprons so they wouldn't get their nice cloths dirty was histarical.

They tanked up and passed out. (post party sugar crash)

Walking from the parking lot to stand in the humungo line. It went fast for how LOOONG it was.

I could hug and kiss these two all day.

It was so beautiful, peaceful, serene……

This little stud muffin of mine was being ridiculous. "Mom take my picture." And then it was pose, pose pose. He's is awesome.

So ofcourse Kaylee joined his impromptu photo shoot.

Melts my heart every time. Big gooey mess. Love them!

Miss sassy pants herself walked a runway most of the way back to the cars. I should have grabbed a video….

And then our little buddy "tripped down". So sad. I watched the whole thing from the back of our group. Jon was closer, but not close enough to prevent the fall. And since the camera was already attached to me……

Regan wanted to see his sad pictures right away. This little face was the opposite of our lovely Temple tour. I wish I could have gotten a photo of their sweet little faces as they looked at everything, The joy, peace, and awe on their faces was really the best part. They knew exactly where they were, and were so happy to be there.
