Did you see the Eclipse today? AWESOME!!! We were a bit bummed out due to our location. The St. George, UT area had MUCH better views of it than we did in AZ. In fact Jon’s calender on his phone went off with a reminder to be in Parowan, UT while we were in sacrament this afternoon.
He programed that into his phone TWO years ago! There is a canyon in Parowan (30 min. drive from Cedar City) that we had planned on going to, to watch the eclipse. It’s supposed to be just a spectacular view.
Jon was funny and said that if we would have planned things out he would have driven us up to UT to see the full eclipse.
Jon helping Kaylee get a peek at the eclipse.
Jon looking while Kaylee looks at the sun even though she was told not to. Stinker.
It’s hard to see, but here is a photo of how much coverage we were able to witness. We were able to see about %80 coverage. Jon rigged this gadget so we could watch without damaging our eyes. There is a small sliver of light next to his finger. That’s all that the sun was peeking out at this point.
My Dad had a great view from his house. He rigged a lens cover for his camera and sent us these photos.
Dad was cute texting and calling us giving us updates on how much better his view was. Making us way jealous. They got this terrific shot of the “ring of fire”.
Even thought Kaylee probably won’t remember I am sure glad she got into it and was excited about such a cool thing. The next one is in five years. We will be going on a family road trip to see that one for sure!
